So what are your weekend plans?
Comments (19)DS and family were planning to visit Sat. noon, but they had a night-time visitor last night. DS will be spending the day cutting back a tree that permits a house-hunting raccoon to access their roof. Two months ago a raccoon tore up the roof to the tune of a $250 repair. Now they get to do it all again! (What IS it about their house? Nobody else is having the problem.) So...all I did was go to the grocery and come home $120 lighter. Guess I'll sit in the *sun* in the LR and read this afternoon. (sigh) Eliot is outside seeing what glorp has been revealed by the melting snow so that he can repeat his 4 a.m. barf-in-the-bedroom....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Aug. 25 - 26
Comments (25)Well, I had planned on it! It was to be a nice break from nursing my DH, who had an eyelid and brow lift last week. His stitches came out Thursday morning. But just after midnight Friday a.m., a call from an ambulance - my son was found unconscious, next to his bicycle. So off to the trauma center. Son will be fine, but he has severe contusions to his left eye, chin, right hand, and left knee, as well as general bruising all over his chest. THANK GOD he was wearing his helmet! Friends riding a few minutes behind him found him and called 911. As he posted on his Facebook page (with a gory photo) "Face versus Pavement: Pavement ALWAYS wins." We were in the ER for about 8 hours, and then brought him home so we could watch for evidence of concussion. And cosset him, of course, LOL. So having been up for more than 24 hours, I took a nap!!...See Moretgif!
Comments (4)Mary, there is a service called Jott.com, to which I belong. It's free - you call the 800#, speak the message you want to text, and Jott will send it to the cell phone for you - it is SO HANDY, because I don't have the patience to sit and type on my cell phone. Check it out. As for my weekend, I will be bored, unless it stays warm. I have been retired since a week ago last Tuesday, and I am B-ooooo-rrrrr-ed! I went to the senior center today, and will start going there several times a week. I am a Master Gardener, and they want me to teach a gardening class and possibly a beginners computer class. I may have found my painting classes, too - someone there teaches water color painting. I realize the need to get out and do stuff besides go to thrift stores - I don't need to accumulate any more junk!...See Moretgif
Comments (10)I have been busy today. Went with Amber and Alyssa to some rummage sales. Alyssa got some of the cutest things for when she is older to play with. I got a few cookbooks and some dried fruit. I came home and have been baking my sweet potato casserole and black raspberry pies for tomorrow. I am going to put some beans in the oven to bake soon. Tomorrow is our first Sunday of the month meal at our church. After the meal they are having a patriot concert then we will go back down to the basement and they will have homemade ice cream. The Fourth of July we will go to Amber and Mike's for a pitch in and cook out. I will work on my food for then on Monday. It is a busy week end for me it seems. Sue...See More- 11 years ago
