So what are your weekend plans?

Tonight: Going to see a high school play. I don't have any kids in HS anymore but DD# 3 is a teacher there and also ticket sales coordinator. I'm really going because I want to see her classroom afterward.

Tomorrow: Now that the snow is almost all gone I will be firing up my seldom used electric chainsaw and attacking the big branch that broke off & fell onto DD# 3's car a few weeks ago. Fortunately there was minimal damage - and she drives a beater. I dragged off the branch and some smaller ones and they have been residing on my front lawn ever since.

Sunday: Packing for my trip to Clearwater FL to take in some Phillies spring training. I'm hoping to get Charlie Manuel's autograph and maybe a picture with him. Would also like to get Gary (Sarge) Matthews.

(if you don't know who these two guys are you mustn't be baseball fans) :^)

Going house hunting in Stratford, Ontario tomorrow. We sold our house before going away on vacation, and we only have 3 months till closing.

I want to get my signature wall hanging put together and bordered. Sigh...this has been a work from H***! Nothing has gone right...well, maybe "I" haven't done anything right..whatever...but I'll get it done...no matter how it turns out. I just need ONE day with no interuptions (that's asking for a miracle! lol) Thought gs birthday was saturday, but it's next week...so I'll have most of sat. afternoon and hopefully sunday to work on it. My SWEET DH worked his butt off today...did laundry, paid the bills, balanced the check book, and ran the sweeper and did the dishes...all so I wouldn't have to do any of it this week end. Love that man!! (and NO, he isn't for hire! LOL) have a great week end everyone! Woodsy

Seeing as how we were forecast a little drift of snow today and then clearing and moderating, and instead we are watching bucket fulls drop from the sky and traffic stuck on the road in front, I don't plan on going anywhere today, nor being outside working any more than I have to. I am more than half, and working on 2/3 done on hand quilting a Queen sized scrappy. I haven 't had much time to quilt in the last two days, so maybe I can catch up for lost time today. This is the second scrappy I have attempted to hand quilt, and I am so very pleased with how it's coming out. The reverse side is actually neat, LOL. If I stay on schedule, the quilting was projected to take me six weeks. I am getting so pumped, however, seeing more done than undone that I seem to be picking up speed. It's not been easy, as this one is really done with all sorts of scraps, some light and easily needled like shirtings, and some quite dense and hard to work. I'm glad I'm not working against a real deadline.

I planned on getting my daughter's pillow shams done but my girls are out of town for the weekend so I had to entertain my son last night. We started a 1000 piece puzzle and finished it up this morning. We really have no one around here for him to play with and he gets very lonely. Today I will get to sew some. I'm using the extra squares I got while making the Pineapple Blossom to make the shams, not sure if I like it or not. If I can find the left over batiks from the last birthday block I may make a lotto block for March. We had to move all my sewing stuff last weekend because we had church here and now I can't find a thing! Vicky

Marilyn, You sure keep busy gal. I was exhausted from the trip...along with being cold. Enjoyed company, they were great guests. No grandkids visiting, but the animals were exhausted too from playing with the visitors. We all took a long nap today. Went to HP this morning and had to wear jeans and a sweatshirt, it cleared up but is back to the icky weather. I do know you live in the NW corner of NM, but was floored to hear their rainfall numbers. My guests are following storms all the way home to NC. Am on a roll though to get some things done. My son lives with me but travels a great deal, is with airline security and was called out last Thursday during the upheaval to LAX for a month. He is a great help when here but also tends to divert me from getting projects finished. Good diversions like watching movies and eating too much, when home he just kicks back. So, I have 4 weeks to play all day if I decide to. Bought tile at HP to finish the bath surround and have tile to do same with my fireplace. The kitchen had been remodeled about 5 years ago by previous owners, but they did a terrible job on the counter tile job. Tile was butted right next to each other, very little grout will stick in seams and I am constantly cleaning spills which seep in between tiels. Most likely this will be another tile job soon as I hate how it looks and the work. Am also putting a cement resurfacer on the concrete patio. Paid some good money to have this done on the driveway and looks like I can do as well myself. Thinking of putting a terra cotta tint in it. The patio is so old I really don't care if I mess up..hopefully next year will build a deck. If it turns out well, may not have to build that deck. Thunder and lightening....hot bath and snuggle in for the evening. Good grief, it is almost Sept. and we hardly had a summer....too early to talk about snuggling in. Sandy

This weekend ... a couple of local hikes (unless it rains) and shopping for some home improvement projects we have going on.

Tonight ... pizza (hence, the hikes) and a Netflix movie.

Tomorrow I have plans to do a lot of baking. Sunday hopefully go to church and then to the meal following and will take some of my baked stuff to eat. Right now I am thinking black raspberry pie, a peach pie, a cake and maybe something else to take.

The kids mentioned maybe taking the little ones to the Aquarium and the zoo.They have already been to the aquarium around christmas and loved it so I think they are old enough to enjoy the zoo.DIL bought us all season passes for both so I guess we had better make use of them.LOL

Tomorrow morning I am taking my Bichon, Sushi, to his new home with some friends here locally. In the afternoon I will be attending the last basketball game of the season. Then Sunday after church and lunch, I will come home and thoroughly clean the laminate floors in my family room. No more Bichon here, no more doggy having indoor accidents.

DD is coming home from college this weekend. So.. we'll take her out to eat tonight. We have a birthday party to attend tomorrow and then I am throwing a birthday party Sunday. It'll be an unusually busy weekend for us.

Going to see friend, who is rehab from two strokes. Will be Sunday, cause there's no rehab on weekends.

Other than THAT, I have no idea!

Know of lots I COULD do, like cleaning my little condo!

Tomorrow's Harry's birthday and he wants to eat out for a change. Sounds great to me. Not sure where we'll go yet.

Many of the MS National Guardsmen are returning from Iraq and we'll be there to greet them and my son. It's going to be a great week end!

I am going to the airport in the morning around 6 to pick up my daughter, her boyfriend and their dog.
They are coming from California and they will be here for two weeks!
Sunday, all three of us will be leaving for New York in which we will be returning Tuesday evening.

I am cleaning house tonight, finishing up in the morning and tomorrow night friends of ours are coming over for dinner. Sunday I have a cake to make and decorate for a baby shower.

Sewing....and hopefully more sewing and then a little bit of sewing! =)

Will also wash some bedding and HANG IT OUT ON THE LINE!!! YIPPEEEEEEE I will have to fold it over tho, as there is still a snowbank under the line! LOL But...it will be warm enough (possible rain on Saturday tho) to get some fresh air in the house and bedding!

I will be cookiing meals to freeze to take with us on our trip to Death Valley. Will also be loading up the RV for said trip. I don't want to rush around the last couple of days trying to remember everything I want to take with us. Will also pack Bobby's suitcase since he will be spending the week with his other grandparents in Phoenix.

DS and family were planning to visit Sat. noon, but they had a night-time visitor last night. DS will be spending the day cutting back a tree that permits a house-hunting raccoon to access their roof. Two months ago a raccoon tore up the roof to the tune of a $250 repair. Now they get to do it all again! (What IS it about their house? Nobody else is having the problem.)

So...all I did was go to the grocery and come home $120 lighter. Guess I'll sit in the *sun* in the LR and read this afternoon. (sigh) Eliot is outside seeing what glorp has been revealed by the melting snow so that he can repeat his 4 a.m. barf-in-the-bedroom.
