Question about posting photos with Houzz

It's nice that we can post four pictures now from our computer, but when I tried to post a photo on the Texas forum using the HTML code from Photobucket the picture appeared, but part of the code did also. What code do we use if using Photobucket?

Also I've noticed that some photos people have posted are small, but when hovered over they enlarged, while some do not, including mine. Why the difference?

I received a quick reply from Houzz about using Photobucket:

"Because you can upload 4 photos at a time directly to your post, embedding
photos from other sites is not supported. You can always add a link to your
photos on photobucket, however they will not be displayed as images
in the forums."

But I still don't kow why some photos are small when posted and if you hover over them they enlarge. At other times the same very photos will be medium size with no hovering feature. What drives that?

Hi - on an iMac here - I just click & drag a photo to my desktop - either from the web or iPhoto or any other folder on my computer, then click the photo link in the comments box & browse the desktop, select the file & click 'open' - & done. (just remember that photo will be inserted where the cursor was last - you can remove a misplaced photo by clicking @ the right side of it & using the delete button on your keyboard) When I'm finished, I put the desktop image in the trash or return it to its folder. BTW, you cannot click/drag photos from the messages here @ houzz( & on some other sites as well) - I use screen capture if I want to save & reuse any of them. If you want the steps for that, just ask... HTH

I use Chrome and Opera. Strangely, it works the way I want it (the relaxed viewing), using Opera on my laptop, but not on the desktop (again, using Opera). If it works with Chrome, then I'll use Chrome. I still wish they'd gray out what we've read.

question - if you do use Houzz and you save pictures in your idea book - how do you share them with people that are not on Houzz? I can't save them and it takes forever to load on my phone. I want to go to the tile store tonight and share the photos with the person there. :( now I am annoyed I started with an idea book here. Of course I have one on pinterest too, but I cant get the Houzz pictures there. Can I?

Sea Sea - are your photos JPG format or HEIC? I've had iPhones for 8 years and my photos were always saved in a JPG format . Then in one of their updates Apple switched from JPG to HEIC - which was some kind of High Efficiency Image File format. Initially I didn't have any problems with sharing them or uploading them. But last summer several people told me that they couldn't open my photos. So I went into my phone settings and switched back to JPG - that solved my problems. And when I got my iPhone 12 Pro I made sure the photos were saved in JPG. Except I now have 3 years of photos in the HEIC format - and I need to figure out an easy way to convert them. Maire
