Not Hahnii Silver Marginated?
Comments (8)It looks like my Hahnii 'Pearl Young' - [picture here[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/sansevierias-phvw-vp~72435043). The Sansevieria Book – Hermine Stover: ‘PEARL YOUNG’ As far as I can tell, this is nearly identical to ‘silver hahnii marginata’, except that it may get a bit bigger and may have a few more visible green cross bands. It is possibly a separate clone, independently arisen, of ‘Silver hahnii marginata’....See MoreThose darn hahnii
Comments (38)Oh, yowza. That is so bright and fresh, just beautiful. It's hard not to have a thing for the Hahniis. They do have their charms, and your photos really bring it out in them. Karen, the Special Sauce is Alfalfa tea, potassium and water that has sat with ground eggshells simmered in water and left to sit in it for a week or so. I only tea the Alfalfa for 24-48 hours. Boy, the Sauce does stink. Some get the stinky tea, some get capsules. Mary978, Thank you. I have become attached to looking at them, just looking at them. I really hope they can all become fat colonized pots. Hopefully, everyone is having a good Summer that will mean growth spurts and pupping after they come in for the Fall. Then folks can take more pictures to share. Hoping you get lots of that action....See MoreI got some new hahnii
Comments (39)Since using Alfalfa in my potting mix. I see great growth in plant and producing pups. I use a little super phosphate as well in the mix. Mostly a peaty mix for my sans now and I feed them compost tea made from a product called 'Stump Tea'. Plants are doing better this year then ever. No losses from the winter. I purchased some Silver Sol for health reason to help with sore throat and runny nose and it helps but also great on plants. A little expensive for it, but goes a long way. Kills fungus and rot. I never had to use it but read about it. Could make your own for plants by using two silver coins and a 9 volt battery. Use jumper cables (small ones for electrical) attached to the coils and then the battery. Set in a glass of water and wait till the water turns a little cloudy. Of course don't let the coils touch each other or you short out the battery. Then spray the plants with it. Never did it but was told about it. Two silver coils should make up millions of gallons due to it uses so little silver. Also noted that the use of LED shop lights purchased cheap and cheap to use cut my electrical lighting cost in half from fluorescents....See MoreLooking for 'Loops Pride' and 'Hahnii 'Crested'
Comments (16)When I look at Hahnii, it feels like looking at jewelry. I don't have any jewelry, and I think I would rather have plants. The overseas plants are really something to look at, for sure. I will enjoy what has made itself available to me, until and if I find something I have to pounce upon, while I try not to kill that pale, petite Gold Hahnii I rotted the roots off of this Spring! I love to see see photos of plants that people grow as prizes just because they have it in their hears inclinations to do so. Reminds me something. A post of yours from a few years ago: Plant Trade or Give Away. I had to find that again. Crazy, crazy, insane reproduction! Still floors me a little....See Morelme5573
