Two things I have noticed in my first five minutes here :) are that the date of the original post is not shown, and when you have read all twenty or more posts to a thread you have to scroll all the way back to the top to return to the forum. Keep in mind that I have just started and these issues may already be out of date.

I know there are various threads about this but I wanted to add that we would love a dedicated "home decorating conversations" forum so we can hang out with our old friends again.

How do I set things up so that when I am on a forum I can see which threads I have either never read or have new comments that I haven't read? I am using Safari if that matters.

We need to have the links to go back to the / home page of the forum / or home decorating / or gardenweb topics / at the bottom of the posts as well as the top. Or you could add a "go to top" button instead.

Also, posts need a date.

Yes, the posts definitely need a date or we will be reading five year old posts thinking that they are current. Believe me, I did that more than a few times on the old GW.

My top issue right now is for the font to be a bit darker so that it's easier to read. I have set a bookmark on my computer so that I can go directly to the Home Decorating forum, and I am thinking that we could use the "Home" button to get back to the top of the current discussion, or the "Back" button to return to the home page of the forum. But links on the discussion page would also be helpful. Daisy, thank you for starting this thread and Houzz, thank you for listening.

How long do we have to edit posts? I was able to edit a thread I started last night and went back to add additional info (11 hours later) and the edit button isn't there. Is this editing info only regarding the text?

I second a darker font and long editing times. Overal , I actually am preferring the changes I think.

Can the background stark white be changed to a softer colour. It's extremely hard on the eyes.

Maybe a soft green with a couple of pretty flowers around. ;)

I would also like to know the time-limit on editing.

Another question I've asked several times: Will deactivating an account also remove all post/pictures submitted under that account?

Errant - They should answer, but my guess to that is no. If they're not going to allow us to remove them after a certain time period while we're here, and want them for the database, I doubt they'll disappear if we leave.

That would really stink :(

I wish GW would have warned us that Houzz would own our content after the sellout. I would have deleted my photos prior, had I known.
