Just moved to Columbus! Can I change my username?
Comments (11)A long time member of the forum changed her name a few years ago, and the system automatically changed her date. She was one of our earliest members, and enjoyed having the earlier date on her profile. Much has changed since that, and I don't know if the system does that anymore. Comments (5)Why change your name? I read where your username is from a model train or something. I think that's great! My username is my dog and I'm his mom. I don't think there is a pepper named Spencer but if there is, I want it... LOL! There are several posters on this forum that do not have pepper related usernames. I like your username. It says something about you that is unique. Keep it. :) Erin...See MoreGW to Houzz user name change?
Comments (57)Say what you wish about a Houzz member already having registered my user name. I don't buy it in my case or many other cases, but that's the reason they gave me. But answer me this, why is MY e-mail address not usable? Houzz claims it is already being used. Well, they are wrong. It's my e-mail address and has been used on GW since 1998 when it was THS. Plus, it is the one that I have been communicating with Houzz to remedy my user name and my requests for them to unlock my e-mail address for my usage.. It is my opinion the notification plan was poorly done. and the migration plan was even worse. DA...See MoreUsernames
Comments (44)patiencenotmyvirtue "I wish we were still just gardenweb." Which seems like a good time to bring up our previous discussion of creating a new site. Many of you (but not everyone or even all 'regulars') messaged me with your email and a request to be notified if a new site is created in advance of or after this one implodes, should that come to pass. I made a list of your user name, real name if you gave it and email too make future contact easier but have not and will not do anything with it unless we make a move. I did snag a name and potential new home for us at ProBoards. I've done nothing with it and have not had any time to familiarize myself with the ins/outs of that forum. There is a great deal of personalizing that can be done - or none - but I'm sure there are some options that would make sense for us and create a nicer user experience IF we get to that point. We seem to ebb and flow with our frustration here. I do not want to be the boss! I am much more of a collaborator. Is there anyone interested and tech savvy enough to explore this with me?...See More- 11 years ago
