Well, well, well, they wouldn't take my GardenWeb username, but did Houzz. I hate the new format. And if I lose the one and only name I've had with GardenWeb for more than a decade, I'm gonna puke. What was all that BS about not changing anything that Houzz had in their letter?

You need to click "confirm your account" at the top of the screen and enter your Gardenweb username and email address. Then you'll get an email with instructions on how to transfer your account to Houzz.

Hi. I am from the Houzz side of all this new stuff and it's always a bit of a shock to see your virtual life turned upside down when new things creep in. I find this interesting though and certainly hope to use this gardenweb side as much as I do the Houzz side. I wonder if the photo section has more garden pics now?? Anyway, I hope you guys get used to all the changes as we Houzzers will have to as well. :)

Yeah, hvtech42... tried that - it did not work for me. Fortunately I has a Houzz account and used that.

Take too long to get here. Doubt I will be here very often. Have to open every topic, instead of scrolling down to read what's in a topic.

This is not good. It's not near as convenient to get to one certain thing on garden web forums, you have to do a lot more things than you used to. I don't like it, and I don't think I'll come on as often either. That's too bad, though, because it used to be so nice, and I would come on a lot

This format is too sterile for me. I liked the pretty floral background that GW had. It prevented this from looking so bright. And is there no conversation side anymore? Quite frankly, right now, I don't even know where I am. Am I in the area for people looking for kitchen/decorating advise or am I in the spot for idle conversation chit-chat.

And now I'm really confused. I clicked back and all of a sudden there are a whole bunch of conversations about garden and succulents. I know NOTHING about them and so why are they here in what I thought was general conversations.

Not only is the new format yucky, but I had just changed my email (or so I thought), but I couldn't get in until I used my old email.

I know! It's really annoying and way to business-like. It's not supposed to be so stark.

Conflict? You mean if someone on Houzz already had your GARDENWEB username, you can't have it? That's wrong. Whoever has had it longer, should have the username. I don't need to adjust. It's about what is fair. Houzz said nothing was changing, and so far, well, everything is.

They shouldn't promise things like that. They don't know enough about how we did things on GW. They don't realize how much their messing things up.

This is nuts. I'm trying this now to see if my GW username shows up. I'm fine with change, but change is supposed to make things better. I don't see it yet with this.

I hate this mess! One change I could do without.......please give us our old format back!

I agree with Suzieque. If the change were for the better, I would be fine with it. But it's not.

I don't mind it. It's unrealistic to expect websites to never change. Whenever there's a change here, there's always a disgruntled revolt and then people get used to it.

So true chi83!! On Houzz we always revolt when changes happen and I have NO clue how things are done here on GW. Learned something already about your website name, though, a quick abbreviation is fine with you regulars. :)

This is rediculous! I had to take another username and password. My e-mail address had changed so this site wouln't accept my new e-mail address. Also, it looks as if I entered into a home decoration site which I definately want nothing to do with it. I live with my daughter and family so have no input on home decorations nor do I have an interest in it. I will give this site a little of my time to see if the garden part works to my convience, if not I will find something else. I am sorry to see that maybe this site will not be a help to me anymore. It was nice to ask a question and have an answer within a day or two, sometimes even in hours.

this is all so wrong. I had to open a whole new account, and I don't want to look at houzz, I just want to go to garden web and some sights. PLEASE fix it back!

this format is a nightmare!

I can't believe what I just went through to get in here. I couldn't remember my password, so I had to go around in circles with that. Then I posted and it came up as my username on Houzz. So, I tried changing my name to Dedtired on houzz, which told me my name was already used. So, I then change it to ded_tired, but then I had to change my pass word.. After that I had to go to my email to confirm. I did that, it sent me to Houzz where I had to sign in AGAIN. Things better improve around here. Trying to be receptive to change, because let's face it -- change happens. I REALLY miss having a Conversations side.

I noticed that we are all having a bit of a time here. Most of us are not young'uns. It was bad enough that houzzz took over, but to change the format - the look - the comfort level...

HELLO!! these changed did NOT CREEP in! I have a bruise on my forehead from colliding with the changes when I came here tonight.

I will probably be visiting much less. But it's not the old site anyway so not so hard to leave.

Phyllis, you can go to your profile and dig around and find a place to shut off all those emails. I was on another gardenweb forum for about 10 minutes, after spending an hour trying to get re registered, and in that 10 minutes, I had a ton of emails. Not going to deal with that, for sure, so I did dig around and now, I dont get any.

I do not like it and will probably quit posting. I know that wont' make a difference to the new owners.

Add me to the long list of dissatisfied customers. I loved the GardenWeb and Kitchen Table. I joined Houzz and didn't care for it at all. Where's the Spike era? Can we go back to a paid subscription forum?

And why is my name "Caroline94535" instead of just plain "Caroline"?

You can change your name. There are several threads with instructions on how to do that and some of these other questions. Just poke around a bit.

It took me almost an hour to get in, and I'm not sure what I finally did right. Who knows if I will be able to get in again? I went in so many circles I was dizzy.

And I hate that there are so many click-click-clicks to work my way down into Houzz to find these forums. The harder it is to find your place, the less likely people are to use it. I found this out at work when helping develop our webpage.

I will agree with others that these pages are awfully dull looking.
