Trying to match tub, toilet and sink, help!

We just bought a house and are remodeling the bathroom. It's a 1953 ranch in the Chicago area. Usually I'm a fan of making things period and historically accurate, but I'm not a fan of 1950s bathrooms, or home design in general, I tend to gravitate towards 1900-1920s era homes, however, our budget and functional reality did not allow for a house built in that time frame to be purchased....so I'm going with the earlier period as my design inspiration. There is a sink I found online that I really like, but since it isn't Kohler or American Standard, I'm not exactly sure about being able to coordinate a tub and toilet. Here is the sink I like:

I think the brand is Kingston, Fauceture line. My husband and I have done quite a bit of remodeling in the past except bathrooms, so we are in a bit of foreign territory.

Any thoughts on what brand of tub and toilet we should go for? What I like about the sink is it has wider sides to put stuff, and the sink and top isn't overly deep, as the sink will be directly opposite the bathtub, and its not a very wide bathroom, so depth of sink is important. But if anyone else has any better suggestions, I'm all for it!

Love the sink. No help on the tub, but for toilets what about Kohler Bancroft or DXV Fitzgerald? (American Standard, they used to call it Porcher).

For my bathroom I did the Fitzgerald toilet and larger pedestal sink (installing any day now!)

We just put in the Kohler Bancroft toilet and could not be more thrilled with it. It is also easy to clean, inside and outside. Love its flushing capability. We also put in the Kohler bancroft sink. They don't take up much space of the counter but I will tell you that the depth surprised me. They are deep. Hasn't been a problem though and it is better than being too shallow. It is just deeper than what we had and I am used to. For the tub, we stayed white in color but didn't worry about it matching. We went free standing victoria and albert.

Personally, I think mixing white and bone fixtures makes the bone color look dingy. You can get Toto toilets in a bone color (your Toto dealer should be able to provide you with color chips so you can compare the colors), or you can switch out the sink - find out how the sink is attached to the top. If it's clips and silicone, you'll be able to remove the sink; if it's epoxy you are outta luck. (And if it's epoxy I wouldn't buy it anyway, because how would you replace the sink if you dropped something in it and cracked the sink? You'd be stuck with a cracked and possibly leaking sink or replacing the whole vanity top!) I also think there is absolutely nothing wrong with a white sink in a black top, I don't think it's "too stark" - I think it looks clean, neat and elegant.

I can't answer your question about seperate colors, but I bought a Toto Augusta tub that is 5 ft cast iron. It is similar size and price as the Kohler.

Definitely not! The Vessel sink is usually treated like the 'Jewel in the Crown' (Note, I didn't say Throne...LOL). this is your opportunity to find something completely unique...I would think maybe a copper sink would go with the colours you describe? I just googled copper vessel sink, and boy, I was overwhelmed with the beautiful choices! I linked to one with an overflow drain....very expensive...but it gives you an idea. I've even seen copper sinks in my local plumbing supply store...so they are fairly accessible. I think you can find lots on eBay too. Here is a link that might be useful: copper vessel sink.

Go to Toto site and click on any toilet. In a blue box you'll see "COLORS". Click that and another window will pop up. Once there, there's a reference to other colors and that you should "click here". I just tried and the info is "x"ed out but I've definetly seen it before. I don't know if I can't now because of settings on my new pc or if they've changed the site. They will also mail samples and I got my chips in less than a week. I found it pretty hard to appreciate the color difference on the 1"sq chips but it's distinguishable if you look hard. Seeing the fixture in person is much more useful.
