Okay I'm using Vista and getting back to the original question my computer does the same thing when I use the Safely Remove Hardware Icon... my drives disappear. What I understand is using that Icon basically turns off the USB drives making it safe to remove the device and upon bootup they are turned back on again. For now I only use the USB ports for my thumb drive and digital camera. Since there are no moving parts in the thumb drive... once the copying is done with can it just be withdrawn from the computer without using the Safely Remove Hardware or will it damage the computer? The same for the camera... would it be safe to simply just unplug the cord once the downloading of pictures is complete? Bob

Just wanted to bring this thread back up to the top. We are almost through series 3 of Doc Martin. My DH and I have really been enjoying it! As soon as the music starts we just immerse ourselves in the small town life of Port Wenn. We watched the first series on Netflix, but they didn't have the second series available for streaming at that time, so we switched to Hulu. We will probably check out some of the other series that Hulu recommended based on our being Doc Martin fans. I wasn't sure how we were going to watch series 4, so I checked on Netflix again, and they seem to have all 4 series available for streaming now.

Saw a few episodes on PBS, then plowed through them all on Netflix. Was sick this weekend, so had a marathon viewing! Wonderfully expressive actor, can't wait for season 5. Have so many favorite lines and moments. (Like what he said when he was giving Caroline an injection but looking at Danny. . .) Haven't gotten hooked on a show like this for a while. That said, though, wish they could have been a bit more consistent in some of the stories. Aunt Joan is such a big part of his life. But first episode says he hasn't seen her for 30 years, after his horrible parents kept him away. But he never saw her as an adult? She had met Edith when they were dating in college. As wrapped up as one gets in these characters, wish they could have paid more attention to things like this.

Houzz has such bizarre quirks, as a forum. If you look around, you’ll see this thread and another thread with the same title. This one is the replacement thread that I started after the first one vanished, shortly after I’d made the initial posts. This thread got to 163 posts or so. Then the original , truncated thread reappeared, a few days ago, with only 8 posts. I was very confused until I hunted around and realized WHAT had happened. WHY it happened, I just can’t figure out. Anyway, rather than get confused about which thread is which, I think I’ll start a new thread, titled ”DD Is (Still) In Marseille”. Look for it in a week or so [I’m writing this on March 28, 2022]. Why a week? Why, because I’ll be back in Marseille and will be seeing what DD is cooking and eating . . . first-hand!
