Can y'all stand one more holiday decor thread?

Sorry, it's not the White House, but wanted to share with you the beautiful dÃ¯Â¿Â½cor from our neighborhood CC. We went down to dinner last night and I was magically transformed. I was more interested in taking photos than I was eating! Wish I had taken more...especially of the outside.

Inside

This tree looked like it was cut straight out of the wild. I have never seen such an enchanted tree. Branches of all lengths and sizes. Grapevine wound around and throughout. Ornaments and fruits placed here and there. Made you want to step inside the tree!

Not sure what to call this, but it was gorgeous! The camera does not do it justice. I think I was too close to the subject.

Outdoor favorite (grapevine balls hanging in all the grounds trees.) I wish I had taken a wide angle shot of the clubhouse faÃ¯Â¿Â½ade. Twinkling lights everywhere!

All the above done by the landscaper for the neighborhoods common grounds.

I can stand it, it's fantastic. Lots of imagination went in to those creations. Ty for the photos.

Renofan - You did a fantastic job on that chair, and I think you should go ahead and do the little chair in the yellow toile, too. That's the fabric that I used to make my bedroom duvet and curtains, (the thread is "I've got the blues...thanks to you"). You'll find that this fabric is very reasonably priced, yet a good, sturdy fabric to work with. I also used the yellow duck ticking fabric from the same site, FashionFabricsClub.com. Wouldn't you know I have 4 wingback chairs that are in excellent condition, but all have old fabric on them that I can't stand. Two of them, in fact, resemble what your wingback looked like before. Thanks to you, and the website that you furnished on upholstering, I now know what project I plan to tackle next! I know I'll never match your speed or expertise in these projects, but at least I can make an attempt. Your motivation inspires me to get my butt off this chair and start searching for more fabric. Now I can't wait to see your little toile chair, and if you ever need to find a home for it once it's done, I have a bedroom that would love to adopt it....lol! Beautiful job!! Heidi

Thanks roobear - but no wreath on the door b/c I don't want to try to touch up stain (I had a hard time touching up after pulling a hair out). jan - a wreath on either side of the door, the candles and garland? Would lighted garland be too much with (unlit) wreathes so close? I think I'd have to skip lighted trees in urns if I did garland though. Have to be fake trees - I think all the nurseries are closed for the season (except for selling wreathes and garlands). There wasn't much of a selection when I was looking a few weeks ago. Unless I dig up 2 of the dwarf Alberta spruce by my transformer LOL! I'll get the candles out tomorrow or this weekend, take a pic and we'll go from there (if I could get more PS help). DS is selling wreathes for Boy Scouts, I didn't order one b/c I don't want one on door, but they are so nice I'm thinking of having him stash 2 away for me as soon as he gets to his station where they're selling extras on Sat.

It must take a great deal of thought and imagination to put an interior like this together. And often money, to be honest. There's a lot of top-notch fabric, wallpaper, and workmanship (the Soane Britain items), plus antiques -- like Syrie Maugham's bergere chairs, which are likely originally from Maison Jansen, and textiles from a Chatsworth House auction -- and items acquired by travelling (she and her family summer often in Turkey), in that flat : ) . But the imagination is a huge part of the equation, and that reminds me of Ingrid's comment on the other thread (homes with soul) about "imaginative interiors". Lulu's house definitely has soul. I love the kitchen and her bedroom. The pink bed is in her daughter Bunny's room. For anyone who's a fan of architect and designer Ben Pentreath and/or his husband gardener Charlie McCormick, it was Lulu Lytle who introduced them. Yes Gaming Chairs. I can't post any pictures because for the future. I've got to be prepared. The shelves are for storing books. I can tell what i have in the room. I have a black flat screen tv. Two white shelves from Ikea. The stand the tv is on is white and touches the two shelves. I may be able to put a photo. Really the purpose of this thread is to get ideas for the future so give me some ideas. More Qs: What gaming chairs would you recommend? This is the model of the shelves i have. __________________________________________________________ Will an Ivy of some kind look good? What lamps would look good in gaming rooms?

I agree - it all looks magical! They must have some spectacular grounds where you live. Which leads me to.....

....I've been meaning to email you but have been rather busy with our move to NC, settling in and guests - and just noticed that you don't have the email option through GW. We plan to explore during this next year before we commit to buying land or house. Pretty sure I'm remembering right that you live within the corridor we're considering and had made a suggestion to me about it long ago. That's you, right? Sorry if my memory is foggy and it's not you! I don't want to make all my questions (and your responses) public so if you're willing to email that would be lovely and if not I understand.

yayagal - The landscaper does have quite a bit of creativity. He also helped us with our pergola/patio addition. His ideas were a little more elaborate than what we wanted, but we worked together to create a happy medium. One thing that he did add, was a special place that I could sit with my grandchildren (I am a Yaya and currently only have a grandson.) and look out at the views. My grandson loves it! When he comes to visit this weekend, his friend Fred (Elf on the Shelf) will be waiting on this bench.

I never tire of viewing holiday decorating threads so keep on posting. Someone in your community is obviously talented and enjoys decorating. The public spaces do look enchanted and I love the lanterns.

LOL Glad I could share, then. :)

I am going to another CC tonight for a Christmas business dinner, in a nearby town. If I remember correctly from last year, the dÃÂ©cor was also outstanding. I will try to take some photos.

I bought two new garlands this year for the chandelier, have lots of bling. Also used the matching candle rings to hang on the side medallions. I knew they had lights that ran on batteries, but I really didn't think I'd turn them on because 1) didn't want to get the tall ladder out each time and move furniture to turn them on and off. Then some time later I was reading the packaging and here they have timers! But I still didn't think I'd put the batteries in - until today. I climbed up there and, hey, it looked pretty cool. So at 9pm tonight I moved furniture and climbed and put the garlands on timer. Now when I turn the Xmas tree and other lights, plus the chandelier, off for the night at 11:30p the garland will stay lit most of the night. Not very good pics but I never could take a nice photo of my lit tree either at night.
