we've used both cream of mushroom, and tomato, with a packet of lipton's onion...my fave meat is round steak.

a bit faster, if you have the time, is a couple of hours at 350 covered with foil...we love carrot, chunks of onion, celery, and potato.

I use them dry onion soup mix and mushroom soup one here's a link to it. I usually add some onions and garlic to the mix.
Oven roasted potatoes and carrots are great with it. You can cut up a few small potatoes and carrots and add in the crockpot too.
I usually cook rice to have rice and gravy.

I season the meat with salt, pepper, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce, then use one packet of brown gravy mix, one packet of onion soup mix, 1.5 cups of water.... I also quarter a medium onion and drop it into the crock pot. I add potatoes (peeled and sliced the long way) and carrot chunks.

I've never had complaints and it's always gone in short order!
