We have our first induction cooktop, a Wolf, after cooking exclusively on gas. the cooktop does not make the very annoying noise, but certain pans do. We have only Le Creuset and All Clad, both of which we were told were recommended for induction cooktops. No sound from the Le Creuset, but certain All Clad pans seem to be worse than others. In our experience the frying pans are the worst. Heavier pots and saucepans not as much. And, for whatever reason, one particular non stick pan was the worst of all, so we stopped using it because it was THAT ANNOYING.

Your lights are probably causing a feed back on the electrical lines. You can talk to an electrician about adding line conditioners on th LED circuits.

Sometimes but it is not annoying or loud, it is fine! Definitely don’t need to talk louder or turn volume up. When I hear it, others in the general area don’t. It’s a humming noise I would compare to a teapot getting ready to whistle but not that loud. I don’t hear the noise often & so when I do it’s a surprise. Seems to depend on which pan & how high the heat but haven’t heard it often enough to nail down which pan or heat level. When the noise occurs, it goes away quickly. I’ve had my induction GE profile range two years & love it. I had a gas range prior to this & I think heat control is better with induction.

Adding to what Juneknow said thin pans or kettle on boost or hi from a cold start will make more noise until either warmer or you have reduced the power, in either case not annoying just a fact. When using cast iron I have been told to start on low power, say maximum of 3 for a minute or two before upping to medium 5 with probably a top level of 7, your cast iron will soon be sizzling at that level. In any case NEVER use boost on cast iron. When cooking an egg dish in a small cast iron fry pan I find after a brief heating at up to 5 l am back to 3 or less to finish cooking.
