Cast Iron rules/tips??

My daughter wants to try cooking with cast iron, partially as a way to get away from the non stick cookware. She has other skillets, such as All Clad which she does use. I purchased a vintage Griswold CI skillet and cleaned and seasoned as a Christmas gift. I do not cook with CI, so am not knowledgeable about how to care for it and what foods are great/not so great cooked in CI. I have done some internet searches, but get differing opinions. I would like to give her a basic set of do's and don'ts with the skillet so she doesn't have to go thru the laborious seasoning process again. I would be most appreciative if any of you GW cooks who use CI could give me some guidelines. Liz
