I live in New England, and I have a Grapefruit tree about the size of yours. I keep mine in full sun- I start bringing it out when the temps are in the upper sixties, and leave it out at night when the temps stay in the fifties. I recommend getting a good plant caddy to make moving it easier! My tree had a tough winter, but it's budded and the leaves are more vigorous; it's leafing out a lot more- same with my Meyer Lemon tree. Just remember to water well enough during hot weather. They seem to like that too. It sounds like you'll have enough light to carry it through winter. I use a clamp on light with a plant floodlight bulb (??) during December and January to give it a little help. (Go to your local home improvement store- these things are easy to find) A little Epsom salt in the water helps too, but only during active growth- early spring, I think around late February? I finally managed to download the Kindle manual to my computer and it is so much easier for me to navigate on the computer that on the Kindle. I found a good Kindle board and have joined. roarah - thanks for that link - interesting perspective. I also read another article about B&N transformation. It's a fascinating dilemma when a company has to cannibalize itself to survive - e-readers vs. print, printed checks vs. debit card, CDs vs. iTunes, etc. I'm actually part of a company that has been going through this. I work for what was a technology start-up that got acquired by a 100+ year old publisher. It's fascinating to be in the middle of the transformation.

mudlady- You're sort of comparing apples to oranges. A Kindle Fire OS is much simpler and more limited in function than a PC's OS. You should simply buy the newest Kindle Fire and not worry. I suspect the device will fail physically before you have to worry about the OS being a problem. Amazon wants the Kindle Fire to work well for years to come: they don't want to alienate their ebook-buying customer base by introducing incompatibilities with new models. Finally, in all fairness to Microsoft, their ending of support for XP was no secret. They did maintain it for 12 years and warned people years before about the fact that support would be ending, and they even had three successor systems in release before they did end XP support. I have an old tablet that came with the latest OS available at the time -- XP -- and it's still functional. Just because support ended for that OS doesn't mean the software quits working. The best strategy is to buy current technology with the most current OS and use it. You may want something new in 10 years, but I don't think there is cause for alarm that an HDX 7 will suddenly turn into a lemon.
