I agree with Jen. The jersey thing is no different than spending money on anything else one enjoys. The only jersey I would probably buy is a baseball jersey because it's the only sport one can actually afford to go to around here. Can't get tickets to a Giants game and even if I could, no way could I afford it. Rangers and Knicks are almost the same. Can get tickets but they are crazy expensive. We do try to go to a baseball game or two each season. Baseball is our favorite, DS plays serious competitive youth baseball, and it's relatively affordable. We even travel to Baltimore at least once to go to an Orioles game. I do buy DS jerseys, but I buy them at Marshalls or places like that and they are not crazy expensive. I love when I leave my office in midtown Manhattan on a night when the NY Rangers are at the Garden. It's amazing how many people I see walking towards the Garden wearing Ranger jerseys. Not sure why, but don't see Knick jerseys when they are playing. And basketball is way more popular than hockey. I went to a college that has football team (Rutgers Univ). I went to all the games when I was in college. And I still live within 20 minutes of my college. And I'm a huge sports fan. But, I just cannot get into college football and never could once I left college. I'm not sure why. Maybe because we have so many pro teams in this area. Or maybe because the players change so often (only there for 4 years max) I don't feel the connection. I did recently go to a Princeton Univ hockey game for the 1st time. My DS has been asking to go to a hockey game for years. Can't afford Ranger tickets. Well, I could afford the seats way up, but I've sat there for Ranger games and there's no way I would take a kid there. It's crazy! Anyway, it was AWESOME. Will definitely be doing that again very soon.

We are headed to Indian Rocks Beach also Patti! Annual SB party at my friends who have this 'mansion like' home on the Intercoastal. Live music from 2pm until game time. I'm making Manhattan Clam Chowder and individual Beer Cheddar Biscuit bowls to serve the soup in, and also my grilled 'Yankee Chicken' legs & wings. No absolutely NOTHING about football but the party is a blast!! LOL

I agree, Rene Fleming was the highlight of the show. She sang the National Anthem so beautifully. I was disappointed about the commercials during the game but the ones right after the end of the game were quite good. From what I understood, those that chose to air their ads right after the game ended saved $1.5 millions. As I mentioned a few days ago, my sister lives in Seattle and my brother lives in Denver. After the 1st quarter, the rest of our family agreed to cheer for Seattle. We figured, the one that has a high income will be proudly sending us Championship shirts. That would be my sister and not my brother. Even my brother told my lil' sister that her team should win so he too can get a championship shirt for free, LOL...

Hello All.........can't believe the week is half over already! The sun actually came out yesterday and we all ran and hid. But we are back to the normal overcast and drizzle. Even my birds friends have taken shelter. Anj.....did you get the science project finished? I hated science but love to do the projects, guess it was working with my hand rather than my brain. Luvs.....I love to read! And when I pick up a book I usually finish it before I do anything else...shame on me! Maybe that is why I now do so many audio books. But there isn't many things a satisfying as curling up with a soft blanked and a good book. Yesterday was the "sisters" luncheon. The "sisters" are all of my DH sisters plus the wives of the brothers. We meet once a month for lunch and always at a different place. The newest place was a local casino, the food and conversation was really great and I didn't loose anything gambling, of course I didn't play either. This time all of the hubby's were there except for mine, he was sitting home waiting for the new washer and dryer to arrive. Wasn't really planning on that purchase for another 6 months. Our DS went into HomeDepot, looking for a set, when he got there they couldn't get the set they were listing on a special sale, so they upgraded the set to the $899.00 washer for $499., and the same with the dryer, so he called us...just tooooo good to pass up and they have so many bells and whistles I don't know which button to turn or push.
