I see you get it - understand - Lux and Gean - that is good descriptions. But like Ingrid wrote - a garden in the state of perfection is just fleeting moment/sense/even feeling - how can a camera capture that? A camera can capture a perfect rosebush (Hoovb have captured - some of her magnificient rosebushes - the size we can only dream of over here) - but proving that perfection or garden ideals in California or elsewhere in the world for that matter are different. A camera can capture a perfect flower - a perfect rosebush - a perfect part/angle of the garden - but the quality of the picture will reflect the quality of camera equipment - lighting conditions - time of day - humidity - and filters - photo-editing - layers etc. and not least the skill and knowledge of the person using it. A camera also only captures some angles of a garden - depending how we zoom in and and out and what we choose to capture/expose. A camera will never document a feeling of having reached perfection - and the fact that my idea and ideals of what constitute perfection and overwhelming, tearful joy - will or might be very different from others ideas or ideals of what a perfect garden is for them. But I sat there - and the beauty - flowed through me and touched me deeply - and tears began to flow - what I had hoped for - I sensed - I felt - I smelled - not just saw - I am afraid we have become to visual and in a day of age where we upgrade our digital cameras/lenses and photo-editing equipment all the time - we tend to forget that a garden speaks to other senses that just our vision/Eyes - but touches our whole body and soul. These days I am working on my new ugly plot too - it may never become beautiful - I could divide it into small garden vignettes or rooms - to use for temporary garden articles - showing plant combinations - but it will be "Artificial" - "staged" and the end result - will look great on pictures depending on the factors mentioned above about what a camera is able to capture and the following photo-editing that can manipulate near every aspect of a 18 mill. pixels - 8 MB RAW photo file. I just shared this moment of my love for roses and my garden - "perfection is probably is more than in the eye of the beholder" it is a fleeting feeling and it will not last - it will be hard to maintain - and like you know it takes work and years - and such moments may not come again - as all who have a garden and grow many roses - know all too well. I just hope that you one day might get the same feeling and you will KNOW what I tried to capture - I will take pictures - but the light is harsh - and today I might spot a yellowing leaf, a weed or 2 and before I know it I will be sweaty, have dirt under my fingernails - scratches from rosethorns because I forgot to wear glowes ... and it is hot as hell .... maybe perfection was just a day or 2 ago ... You guys are trully magical.Many, many thanks to all of you.Of course I will be doing lots of reading here before anything gets done here.Many thanks for directions from everyone who responded. 1.Hemnancy: the slope just before the veg garden has a row of roses.( I lost several over last winter/spring because their roots are basicaly in water.On the other side I have pavers and veg garden.Garlick does sort of ok in that area.Then it slowly gets elevated and contiunues into veg garden.Going up the slope from the roses is lawn constantly wet.When we re-did the garden few years back with professional help we explained the problem so the top part of the lawn was converted into an are of some shrubs that we were told like water and will basicaly help to absorb it.They are doing well , but this in turn created even worse situation because the dirt from there gets washed down my pavers and supplies lots of fertilizer and dirt also so I m constantly pulling it out no end to it.By me pulling on them I know I am removing the sand but the constantly draining water removes it anyways and takes it down the pavers and by my garage door also.I actually have to brush it away from the garage door because it would go into the garage.There is a drain there but the slope takes the water away from that small ineffective drain.We already have a water feature in front of the house so at this point we will won't put one more. 2.Mdvaden of Oregon: I wish you were closer to me maybe you could help us out here..Thanks for the info I will read it all.I have been working on my soil for few years and that is the reason I can even grow vegies there.It was far more worse when we moved here.I will read and learn more.I would be most happy if by fixing soil I could improve it, but the soil gets the water constantly from the slope and I am improving it but it won't stop pouring there unless I direct it somewhere else.Thanks again. 3.Sylvia forest : what a terrible neighbour you have .So sorry about it.We had a similar situation but the water was just dripping from the soaking hose right into our house.We told them to re-direct it and it was done.They also have it right against the fence but not for extended periods of time so its not a problem .In any case its on the site that we don't have a drainge problem.If they don't respond well to you explaining it I would be tempted to do exactly the same and direct your hose right into their yard.This way they will see exactly what you are talking about.It may work, but it also may make things worse between you and them.You have to make this decision .Good luck. Suburbanmd, I actually did run his shirt through 3 sanitize cycles, so maybe it is the soap. Strange thing, on the 10 year old now broken machine, I only used warm/cold setting & FS. Perhaps the FS was masking the smell. Also, we have a recirculating hot water pump that was running, so basically it has instant hot water. Plus, the utility room is the first stop in the hot water loop. I can also verify this, as I just could not resist the temptation to put my hand in the flow of the water to test its temp. I have a load of linens to do tonight or tomorrow that I will do with the Kirkland HE liquid I have on hand and just let the machine do its thing as you say. The linens are not really that soiled, just one night stay by a guest, but still it will be interesting to see how it does and to check the soap level. Janet, it is ironic you mention your model number, as when the delivery folks first delivered my machine and placed it, husband looked at it and said it was not the right one. Turns out it was the WM2016CW! What I do not understand is why of all the models they took the water plus feature out of my chosen model. Do you find that the towels are actually in any water in the drum or have they absorbed it all? Mine has so very little you have to hunt for it and move them over just to find the frog puddle. Maybe this is quite normal for FL machines and being my first, I am used to the concept of water in a wash. I am still concerned about how it will do on the dog blankets and dog hair. How can it rinse the hair out when there is hardly any water? Only trial will tell. Oh, and yesterday it started leaking slightly from the front left hand corner! I wiped up water several times including when I first got up, and no, the only high water time was when it did the error code while wildly filling. I have read that over sudsing can cause leaks, so maybe this high water level reached that point? Then again, it might be something else. Do any of the FL machines actually spray the clothes to rinse them while they are spinning, much like the TL do? It seems like this would add a lot to rinsing the clothes. Thanks, Schutzhund

You don't say whether your FP washer is a TL or FL. In my opinion and experience, having to buy ANY washer & dryer these days is a dilemma in itself. If you buy some Top Loaders you can have some control over the water level; otherwise, forget that with any and all Front Loaders. My Speed Queen FL (cost $1800) is built like a tank and works like a charm except for the water level (13.4 gal split between washing and rinsing!???). San Diego Steve will tell you that is plenty and he has even posted that he sold that model and bought the newer one which uses even less total water per wash cycle (11.xx gal I think). He and I are in complete disagreement on how 4 gal of water can rinse a set of King size sheets that remain in a wad. So FL vs TL is the first hurdle. I'm not sure how much water a SQ TL uses, but that would be my first question. My FL spins like crazy. I would have bought an FP but they are not sold anywhere in the Dallas, TX area. Maytag used to make a Centennial model which my daughter in law has and it has a deep rinse which fills the tub, but might no longer be made. Sorry not to have any more helpful information. The Chinese factor would scare me off as well with the FP. Good luck and please post your final decision with the outcome. It will be up to date and may help others.
