Worm Exchange / Swap / Adopt a Newbie

Anyone thought of starting one for vermicomposters like the seed exchanges? I do not have any worms yet but have my bin warming up getting ready to make a new home for some. I would be willing to pay the shipping if anyone interested in paying it forward with Euros or Reds. Once i get my bin going and have my plethora of pets i will be willing to do this for other newbies. If not im thinking i will get some Euros from Walmart bait section and save them and see what i can get going. Hope i dont offend anyone just thinking outloud.

I don't think most of us are prepared to mail worms. I have given some away to local people who were able to come to my door to pick them up.

This is the most activity I had with my milkweeds. My poor little milkweeds got chewed down! That's that point isn't it? My 1st year plants haven't flowered and I guess that means I won't have seed pods either. Katie - This is a great project and very helpful to newbies. This is going to be an odd question, but I told my sister in law about this. She said she would like to get in on it, too. How much are they? I bought my EH from Uncle Jims and they were $40 for 500 with an offer on checkout for an additional 500 for $20 more, I doubled that for a total of 2000 for just over $125 shipped after discount. IIRC I found a coupon code for 10% off using google.

You can certainly start with a tub or even a few from walmart, I was looking for a quick out of the gate and had lots of places I wanted to put them.

Note that these are not the worms most use in indoor bins, I went with these because they look to be more suited to outdoor free living as in worming in the garden.
