Comments (27)Carol, here's the list, and believe it or not, I have NO room left in my garden LOL Obviously, I will have to pare it down, just a little. Thank goodness for pots... Not Available (Yet!) at Pickering/Palatine: Karen Blixen Jardins de Bagatelle Martine Guillot Narzisse Pretty Lady Sri-un Silver Jubilee Truly Yours Urdh Violette Parfumee Available to order: Vick's Caprice Duchesse de Montebello Compte de Chambord Jacqueline du Pre Ispahan Laguna Yolande D'aragon (2nd try - ordered last spring but ended up not being available) Aloha (the Boerner one, not the Kordes) Bride's Dream The author says these are all hardy enough (with a little protection) in zone 5, so hopefully I will be able to grow them here. Wish me luck! Judith...See MoreBoule de Neige or Variegata di Bologna in the PNW
Comments (4)I live and garden at the very bottom of South Puget sound. I suspect that our weather conditions are quite similar. My favorite Bourbon is Souv de St Anne. Mine has just completed her second summer here. 3' tall by 2'[ wide and deep. She gets some BS late October. The rest of the time she is clean. I have her planted in a protected area. Yesterday I surrounded her base with a mulch coverring to help her through our so far easy winter. cl. Souv. de MalMaison is another rose which flourishes here. She is planted next to cl. Cecile Brunner. The plan is to intertwine the branches so that there are usually blooms peeking out. Both bushes have finished their first summer herw. I cant ccomment about the two Bourbons you are looking to grow as I dont grow them. Good luck in what you choose. Jeannie...See MoreVariegata & reversion
Comments (4)My Variegata di Bologna has a cane on it that has reverted, too! What a wonderful surprise to find solid burgundy flowers peeking out along with VdB's stripes. Your photos are lovely....See MoreVariegata di Bologna
Comments (5)Masha - Same as VdB , it is a big bush , some 7 ft high and wide . Debbie - Yes , Vdb comes from Victor Emmanuel . Recently I saw in one catalogue , that someone has registered V.E. as a new rose - a "sport of VdB". Funny , because V.E. is in cultivation since 1859 and Variegata(1909) is its sport , not the opposite ....See MoreUser
