Best low light flowering plants

Hi

I'm looking to buy a flowering low-light indoor plant but not sure what would produce the best looking flowers.

I appreciate I'm never going to get sunflowers in such low light but could you please recommend anything that produces an ascetically pleasing flower like 'bloom' in limited light conditions? (happy to water the plant regularly if that makes a difference)

Any of the below come recommended?

African violets will flower in a north facing window (I'm assuming you are in the northern hemisphere).

Impatiens do well. But they are hard to get this time of year.

Thank you! Yeah I've had drift roses in the past but expensive and prefer a tighter looking plant. The other recommendation I've had is Impatiens, except I don't think they would get enough shade.

Which low light shrub would be best here?

What time of day was that picture taken and what direction is the fence from where the plantings would be? It certainly doesn't look shady in the picture, and if you plant a shrub of any size, I will be planted some distance from the fence and in the plant would be in sun.

Thanks! Can't believe my instincts were correct in this case. Had no idea geraniums could be perennial in my zone, and don't remember planting it at all. It must have been something I picked up for cheap at the end of the growing season a year or two ago. Thanks again! Kat

oh, summerunshine. that is good to know. I have a northern window and I am trying to have an indoor garden. I didn't know a northern window was good for African violets. I'm going to try these. thanks

Phalaenopsis orchids are surprisingly easy 2 grow and can do well in medium low light.......

If you keep african violets in a north window, they have to be close to the window. Pretty much directly on the windowsill. Another thing you can do is get a grow light. A single gro light tube is enough to supplement the natural light coming in from the window. I have one for my AVs, and they bloom pretty much constantly.
