In the bleak mid-winter, frosty wind...what are you reading?

With apologies to our RPers in the Southern Hemisphere, who are probably trying to cool off!

I just finished My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher. It has been a long time since I cried at the end of a book, and let me tell you, it felt good. I loved this book and look forward to this author's next work.

The protagonist is a 10-year-old boy who is dealing with the disintegration of his family in the five years since his older sister was killed by a terrorist bombing in London. And yes, it is pretty grim in many parts. But it is a great story and it manages to end very neatly without being horribly saccharine or horribly horrible. I am going to read it again.
