Name of a Book or Series

I am looking for the name of a book or a series of books about Angels that live in a small town and look after the people there. Simply can't remember the name.

Thanks if anyone can help.

WD is this book/s written for children or adults, old or modern, in what country is it set? There are 1000's of books with Angels in the title. Are you able to narrow your search down a bit?

DH and I liked Bletchley and "Bomb Girls". Any day now we are going to start speaking Received English from overexposure to Masterpiece Theater. We are watching "Mr. Selfridge" and "Call the Midwiife" and about to begin "Father Brown". "Breathless" was also just promoted on our PBS station. Oh, and we just finished Season 6 of "Doc Martin". Ta-ta! Time to sound the gong an hour before dinner is served. (I'll be changing into my robe and slippers.)

Old Mother West Wind, Grandfather Frog. Boy, did I love those when I was a kid in the 40's and 50's. I pulled out one which was printed in 1915, so my mother enjoyed them as well. None of mine have checkered covers, so they must have been printed for a long time. Goes to show you a good story never goes out of date.

The series has grown since then-what fun you'll have this winter catching up! Irene (pronounced Eye-REE-nee) Adler, opera star and sleuth in 19th Century France, is featured in: Good Night, Mr. Holmes (1990) Good Morning, Irene (1990) APA The Adventuress Irene at Large (1992) Another Scandal in Bohemia (1994) APA Irene's Last Waltz Chapel Noir (2001) Castle Rouge (2002) Femme Fatale (2003) Spider Dance (2004) written by Carole Nelson Douglas

I remember it being pronounced as Berenstain Bears but also remember thinking that it was an odd pronunciation given that it was written Berenstein Bears. I think its actually a test run of a nefarious plot to rewrite history and convince everyone to doubt their own memory. What's next? Trying to convince people that President Agnew's 6 years in office wasn't one of the most transformative events in American History? Its crazy I tell ya.

Sorry, I did not give a really good description.
This is a small town and the people in the story are well know to the town, but in reality they are angels. It seems like they have a different person to look after in each book. I don't think angels are in the title at all.
