The Super-Duper Wireless Weather Station Whosiwhatsit is actually a Professional Wireless Weather Station by La Crosse. Model # WS-2315AL (link below). I'm mainly interested in Hi/Low Temps and Humidity in the GH (and time of day for each is a nice bonus). Hubbie's interested in the rain and wind stuff. Rain gauge is already setup, and I expect he'll be on the roof this weekend setting up the anemometer! Overall, it's a pretty cool Gizmo cause it gives both of us something to play with. DH loves all that complicated electronic stuff! I'm more the "What button do I push?" type (And no, I don't need to know how to access the barometric pressure in Uzbekistan, thank you! ;-) Only downside to the Super-Duper Whosiwhatsit is that it doesn't have the ability to add a second outdoor Temp/Hygro Sensor for the "True" outdoor temps. But that's okay b/c we've still got the old "basic" weather station for that. Anyway, it was a good Christmas! -N Here is a link that might be useful: La Crosse Wireless Weather Station

I've put slate in a standup shower and just love it. It's a Mexican slate with lots of colors and red blips in it; it ranges in color from green to red to grey. I put it on the floors of a laundry and bathroom and then cut large 12x12's to 6x6s for the shower. I also used a strip of expensive slate-and-glass little tiles at eye height and in a square pattern on the floor. I can't tell you how happy I am with the slate! I was worried it would be rough on the feet, but it's just perfect - a little bit of scrubbly is good, but it's essentially smooth-feeling, so it's delicious and cleaning all at once! There really isn't any special maintenance required. I sorted the colors and laid them out in a general pattern before they were laid down. It's not necessary of course, but I like the effect, less overall random and more directional. DH says it's like there's a "beach" over back by the shower where it's redder (he's a geologist). The 12x12 floors are on a diagonal, the shower straight-up. We've been using these rooms 6 or more months now and I'm still thrilled with them. The big floor tiles are definitely not very flat as they weren't installed very well, but it's still OK. I was worried about tripping with laundry baskets and the like, but it has not been a problem. I highly recommend slate, and getting it rough as opposed to like smooth tile, is fine too!

Cathrugg, Thank you so much for posting this question. As you can see in the pic below, I have a rather primitive set-up for listening to music outside. (boom box under the metal bench) I thought I had looked at/reviewed every outdoor/wireless speaker set-up online but I've not seen this one you posted. This one from Brookstone looks very good! But you said it cuts off the music from the original speakers? No way to override that? I'm going to go to Epinions and some other places and see what they say about this speaker and they might have a way to override problem or offer other makes/brands. I'll be keeping an eye out on this post of yours because the holidays are around the corner and lots of times our adult kids want to go in together and get me and hubby and combined gift----this outdoor speaker would be perfect for our needs!

I'm patiently waiting for a World Market table to arrive, myself. I was looking for a kitchen/dining table that will be our only table (no formal dining room). I also had a size requirement that it not be too wide or too long because it's going in the space between my kitchen and living room, but I needed to be able to make it larger for company. I looked around a lot, for months, including craigslist. I already knew I was getting the chairs separately because I'm getting red bi-cast leather parsons dining chairs. When I looked at the cost of a table on craigslist (most come with a set of chairs) versus a brand new table, I'd only be paying $100 or $200 more for a brand new table, so I stopped with craigslist. I also needed something durable since we have three kids (ages 6 to 13) so veneers were out. This table is wood all the way through. Furniture gets damaged over time, and that's something I'm prepared to live with. I'll be a lot less upset with a $500 table getting some scratches in it than I will with something a lot more expensive, so the price point is good, too. A girlfriend of mine has a few pieces of World Market furniture, including her dining table set, and loves it. (She has no kids though). Good luck on your shopping.
