Hi tvalenti, I'm interested in your: Calla lilly (both kinds) Common Chives Garlic Chives Verbena bonariensis I have oakleaf hydrangea, some vegetables, a few large hosta types, and a tall ironweed (works for part sun and gets about 4-6ft) on my list that might interest you. Lilacs (syringa) may have slightly different germination requirements depending on which one, but in general, most need to have the seeds exposed to a period of moist cold before they will germinate. Moist cold ( about 35-40F) of anywhere from 1 - 3 months, followed by additional 2 - 8 weeks at approx 70F for germination. Seeds are surface sown, some light may be beneficial to germination. Most lilacs we are growing are hybrids and/or grafted - propagating from seed may not produce plants similar to the parent. You could have something lovely, or something not worth the space in your garden :)

tree 2: older, but not very large. Form and branches looked a bit like a craggy fruit tree. Several broken branches - clearly this tree doesn't get big around here. Leaves and seeds remind me a lot of lilac, but the tree form wasn't zig-zaggy like a lilac shrub. Maybe there is such a thing as a lilac tree? Seeds were in large bunches.
