Generally the whites tend to be some of the most cold hardy, but I don't know much about either of these clones. I picked them up at a local scion swap, and know nothing other than what was written on the masking tape: 'early white' and 'lavender'. The early white berries are quite large, 2inches and fat. Anyway, I'm happy to send some wood and maybe I have some other scion (apple, nectarine, peach, plum) or seeds you might be interested in to make a trade worthwhile - take a look at my trade list. Yes, I'd like some illinois everbearing and I'd be interested in asian persimmon scion as I've got a tiny seedling that should be graftable come spring. Hi Yuewen, Pot size doesn't really tell us much about the plant's maturity, but a mature Vanda coerulea probably measures about 10 inches from one leaf tip to another, and is about 10 inches high also. I imagine yours is probably quite a bit smaller than that if it's in a 2.5 inch pot. Vanda coerulea is a great plant when in bloom, but like any Vanda it will require very high light, intermediate to warm temperatures and evenly moist and humid conditions to bloom. Since you've likely got a seedling on your hands, I'd start it at medium light, the same as you would for a Phalaenopsis, and as it grows, start acclimating it slowly to more and more light until it gets very high light (think direct light from the South, ALL day). A healthy plant getting what it needs will grow better and faster than one that isn't, but I'd say you're at least 5 years away from a bloom. Also, unless you have a greenhouse, this one may be a bit harder to grow in MA, though not impossible. Good luck. Julie

MsMeow, I am 65 and I started knitting (self taught) as a teenager. Needless to say, I am pretty set-in-my-ways. I did 3 more rows last night all with the continental method, and it is getting better. I did settle on a way of holding the yarn that is a "combo" of suggestions. My hand is not cramping anymore, because I am relaxing more. Using the old method (throwing the yarn) took me about 20 min to do one of these long rows. I have the continental method down to about one hour for a row LOL! I think it is going to work, but I still need to look carefully at every move, so the eye strain is a bit of a pain. It is definately a better way to knit! Oh, I also got the twist out of it. I had been putting the yarn on the wrong side of the "poking" needle. I have only been doing the "KNIT" stitch, so I still have the "PURL" to conquer!
