Thanks John and the same to you and yours, and to all here at Cornucopia. You wouldn't believe what some of the tomato addicts on this forum get up to. Last year, one of them (name withheld - don't want to embarass the poor blighter) dug up some of the paving around their pool to make more room for tomatoes. Absolutely crackers!

Best to you John, Ray, Adam and all. You do have it bad, John. Maybe a resolution is in order? To grow more. Hey hey. Best :)

I've just had a chance to sit for a few minutes so had a look at your card Vikki, that was really cute and lets hope all those New Year's Wishes come to pass for all of us :o) I've got a crowd coming for dinner tomorrow so trying to get as much done ahead of time as possible. It seems I'm doing everything on the fly at the moment. I have a huge baron of beef in the oven for the beef dip, this way even if the power goes out which it can if it gets windy, we can eat by candle light. The frozen lemon mousse is made. The buns are bought and I've got all the different salad makings in the fridge, still thinking about doing a hot pepper salad though. I hope I've got everything covered, if not there will be wine to make everybody mellow :o) Anyone else doing something traditional or quirky like me for dinner tomorrow? Annette

Thank you so much ladies for your kind words! I missed you so much too as I really feel good in this forum and it always boosts my imagination in anything that relates to home or holidays! Without you the season wouldn't be the same! And you taught me so much! You even inspired me last year when I was looking to buy new furniture for the living room! We're back from Brussels, safe and happy to get back home, lol. For as long as it's safe and honest, I can't resist to the word "Challenge" and, once again, I took one - I should stop doing so because it does take all the "free" time I have especially when it's a challenge in English; which isn't my first language. Actually the Giant Squid Challenge is a challenge for a badge that all my Squidoo pages will showcase. It does mean that I'm good at building a Web page, with good information, how-to tutorials or anything that requires good content, that also includes nice related pictures - I know that you LOVE pictures with a passion ;) This status will get me some special perks in the community. I had to build 50 pages to enter the challenge and I created 69 - will make a few additional ones. Most of these pages relate to Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day and few other holidays; whether costumes, decorations, parties, gifts. Unfortunately, this did prevent me from coming to the forum because not only did I built the pages but I also had to promote them while at the same time keep managing my own websites - you know, those that are related to Christmas, Halloween and Valentine's Day. The adventure is pleasant and I hope becoming a Giant by the end of January as the review starts on January 1st. As an example, I will give you a link to my Christmas collection that recaps all the Squidoo pages I made for Christmas as I created 17 pages for this holiday: parties, decorations, gift ideas, stocking traditions, etc. :D Ok, so now, I'm going to check everything I missed in the forum, lol. 'A Happy New Year to all our readers.' Here, at 10.50am 1st January 2006, in downtown Pontardawe, Wales, UK, it is cloudy, with intermittent rain and warm for the time of year. BBC Radio 3 is blasting out Part 1 of the New Year Concert from Vienna; Part 2 will be transmitted on BBCTV as well as radio, after the interval. I love these annual concerts - the music feels so fresh and clean, like the year itself, and the Hall, when you actually see it on TV, is beautifully decorated with flowers. Dido

Happy New Year to All! Happy Gardening! I chipped ice off the deck and tried to start a fire in one of my burn piles but failed miserably, I do smell deliciously smoked however! I planted some Old Blush and Ragged Robin (we think) seeds from the fridge, inside. The year is off to a good start. Thank you for putting up with a newbie to the antique rose world and being so kind. Jeri, your dog is adorable!

Happy New Year everybody! I am off to check my patch in a moment - I am afraid the heat seems to have knocked them around this year - but the chooks love what we do not eat! All the best, Daniel

If you use Firefox, get the Adblock extension, since I installed it, purely because of the flash ads here on GW, it's sent them to smithereens :-)

Firefox works, but it buggers up my surfing coz I got an HP computer. No more ads though. aND IT WAS RAY WHO DUG UP HIS POOL SURROUND TO PLANT MORE TOMMIES LAST YEAR. This year we're tying yellow ribbons to them. Imagine how normal we look to the neighbours.

I use Netscape, no pop ups there either. So how long is it since your neighbours thought you were "normal" adam?? I gave up trying to be normal years ago! I 'm hoping my new suburban neighbours don't get too much of a shock when I start digging up the lovely buffalo lawn to put in fruit trees, tommies, chooks etc!! Best wishes to all of you for the New Year. I have high hopes for 2006 and hope all goes well for gardeners everywhere.
