In my mind's eye, there's a fairy garden of succulents to which this will soon belong, a shallow planter of extreme drainage in a warm sunny spot on the porch... possibly with a jade in the middle, looking like a giant tree surrounded by "shrubs."...? This doesn't look like the kind that would make plantlets at the leaf edge, which I thought was a characteristic of Kalanchoes. Maybe not all, maybe too small... Is this the kind of thing that blooms reliably, or is a special event about to unfold? I didn't see buds on any of the other plants, but it could just be the very start of their bloom season and this guy's just over-anxious...

Yeah, Nod, I know the feeling, you think the damn things are so delicate you're reluctant to disturb them, but comes a time when you have to. The attitude is, do the best you reckon you can and the devil take what doesn't work. Flannel flowers are not easy and at best, in cultivation, if you get a season - get some to flowering - then consider you've had success. West Australian natives grown on the east coast are the same. I've had a few last a season, another few a few seasons and I'm grateful for that. B.

It looks like False Solomon's Seal, Maianthemum racemosum, although FSS has white flowers.
