I try to keep certain plants marked outside. I find that the markers tend to disappear no matter what I do. IÂm inconsistent with mapping, but I do that too. Thanks for the reminder! I will be sure to map my recent plantings. Update: Hosta Collector Day 2: I purchased Guacamole, a child of Fragrant Bouquet. I also purchased the plain species Hosta plantaginea. Being a newbie, I donÂt know if there are any cultivars of Hosta plantaginea that have variegated foliage while maintaining the large flower size and fragrance. IÂm not sure if IÂve ever seen Hosta plantaginea in bloom. IÂve always wondered how to pronounce hosta. Like hOst or hast, but I read that the plant is named in honor of Austrian botanist Nicholas Thomas Host, so then I would think it should be said with a long o else it does not resemble his name. I'm a collector of these little antique plants and have new off-shoots to trade with for others I don't have. For example I got the Brownie, Merlin, Dr. Lennon's white and Minley.

Sounds like you want some kind of application that can present the information in a meaningful way with a database on the back end to store the information. I'm not aware of any programs out there that currently do this for plants. I know it is certainly possible to code something like this. I would volunteer, but most of my "spare" programming time is already allocated to a different project dealing with physical fitness. Do we have any other budding programmers out there? Another option: I know a .NET programmer looking for some side work, but it would probably cost a decent chunk of change to create the application.
