Next door neighbour gone mad with the weedkiller!

My next door neighbour has just tipped 3 litres of weed killer on his small front garden in an attempt to kill eveything. He thinks that a patch of bare earth will stay neat and tidy and not require any maintenance! He does not propose to cover it in gravel, mulch etc.

As I have no wish to live next door to this, I think that I might make a suggestion. Some low growing, spreading plants that aren't too rampant might well require less maintenance.

I've thought of a few, such as creeping thyme, aubretia, low growing campanula, but would welcome any further suggestions.

Thanks.
