Same here. Give me more fans of what I do want. Thanks for the info on them. I had seen Moonless Night and Bayard Lombard in person at my local daylily farm (next town over). I loved them but that place is so-o-o expensive (a double fan for each of these is $15 and they don't give any bonuses and just give you a double fan). I looked online and saw them being sold on eBay. The name sounded familiar and remembered hearing good things about them. And at $5 for those daylilies, I couldn't resist. And of course, I started looking at what else he sold and found those 3 others. I am one very happy camper!

Mari, I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I don't own a mechanical dryer, and I don't use any "fabric softeners"; liquid or sheets. We have naturally soft water here, so there's not much point. I've noticed most brands have come out with a "fragrance free" version, but IMHO, they're all still just oily chemicals designed to temporarily give your laundry a soft "hand", but over time, will ruin the fabric. I'm just an original Laundry Luddite with a serioulsy cheap, green streak. I'd hate to waste electricity to heat up (and then cool down) my clothing when I have 100 ft of perfectly good clothesline that can air dry everything but heavy comforters in about 20 minutes - for free. Our clothes smell fresh and clean without resorting to artifically scented (polluting) chemicals, and I get to enjoy the benefits of fresh air and a little exercise, so for me it's win/win. Still, I have a tidy little laundry space with a washing machine, and a place to put the "laundry aids" such as they are. (White vinegar, borax, a bottle of laundry detergent and clorox bleach, a box of baking soda, and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide.) I designed a fold up ironing board with a shelf to hold the iron and a spray bottle, but I have to wait to get the hot water heater moved before I can put it up. Still haven't made up my mind what color to paint the clothesline poles, but when I get it all done, I'll post pictures too. I know that not everyone can use a clothesline; some people are physically unable, some don't have access to a place to put one, some people live in restricted neighborhoods with anal retentive HOAs, and some live in areas with so much dust, grime and pollution their clothing wouldn't remain clean if they did hang it outside wet. What can I say? I'm one of the lucky ones. :^)

I liked Leonie Swann's "Three Bags Full". At least the sheep acted quite naturally which is more than can be said for some of the animal detectives! Being winter and cold, windy, raining etc. (Like the UK Summer this year apparently) I have been curling up under my cheap misprinted Winnie the Pooh blankie and listening to tapes so that I can keep my frozen mitts under wraps. I bought a lot of them from the local library who are selling old and donated, almost new, tapes. I like books I have already read, I find them easier to follow. I also like women readers better as they can deepen their voices for male characters but men don't sound right becoming women! What do other listeners think? I have been trying to get Kate Fenton's two early books from the Australian library system but no luck so far. I enjoyed her books very much and was reminded of her from another thread. Almost Spring, so a lot of my reading will be garden catalogues!

With all the enthusiasm here for Bookmarks, I had to give it another try since Pages is no longer being published. When I subscribed to both years ago, I liked Pages more. Maybe I've forgotten but it seems that Bookmarks has added some features that used to be in Pages. I always especially liked the last page of Pages that featured a year in books. This issue of Bookmarks has the same feature and I'm so happy to see it. For whatever reason, I love this issue of Bookmarks and will subscribe again. I have the same feeling that I used to have with Pages -- like a kid with the Sears Christmas catalog!
