I LOVE this magazine. I starting subscribing about a year ago, and enjoyed it so much that I ordered twenty of the back-orders! I look forward to it coming in the mail every other month.

I am the one who recommended the magazine and when I saw your post, I was on pins and needles.... hoping hoping hoping you were as pleased with the magazine as I am. Like you, my mags are high-lighted and dog-eared when I am finished with them. And then, closing my eyes and thrusting out my hand, I beg my best friend and fellow bibliophile, "Here, just take it! Quickly, before I open my eyes and change my mind!" And then she uses a different color high-lighter. We both had to start separate pages in our TBR notebooks for Bookmarks Mag and title them, BOOKMARKS - JAN, 2008 List and so on.

THANK YOU for letting me and everyone else at RP know how you feel about the mag. I was truly thinking about it and wondering if your first issue had arrived.

Fire in the Blood was INCREDIBLE. Never have I read an author who could say so much with so few words. It is a short book of 138 pages, but the power and the emotion and the crystal clarity of the prose blew me away. Several times, I was actually holding my breath. She truly had a gift that most of today's popular authors do not possess. It was, without a doubt, beautiful in its surface simplicity, and passionate in its depth. Please let me know what you think of it.

My first copy arrived about two days ago...I riffed through it, and wished I could sit and read it. Then I put it aside for reading after the Christmas bustle...and now need to remember where that safe place is.

I purchased them periodically and my DH gave me a subscription for Christmas - one of my favorite gifts!

I was able to get Fire in the Blood from my local library - what a terrific work it is. She could truly tell a story. I wonder if we could put this one up for discussion here at RP? It might be too hard to obtain for many people. Although I loved Suite Francaise, FITB is much easier to read and quite short as well.

I just picked up a copy of this magazine and it really impressed me. I have an Amazon gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I'm going to order a subscription for myself.

The only problem I foresee is needing another room in my house for the TBR pile that will result from this *G*.

Finally had a chance to read my copy. I was very excited to see the article on Russo, one of my top 5 fiction authors. So that didn't extend my TBR pile very much!

With all the enthusiasm here for Bookmarks, I had to give it another try since Pages is no longer being published. When I subscribed to both years ago, I liked Pages more.

Maybe I've forgotten but it seems that Bookmarks has added some features that used to be in Pages. I always especially liked the last page of Pages that featured a year in books. This issue of Bookmarks has the same feature and I'm so happy to see it.

For whatever reason, I love this issue of Bookmarks and will subscribe again. I have the same feeling that I used to have with Pages -- like a kid with the Sears Christmas catalog!

Due to this conversation, I went out and bought my own copy of Bookmarks and have spent a happy afternoon perusing it. I really enjoyed it and my TBR pile has had several new titles added to it now.

Contemplating subscribing to it, but need to finish it first before I decide. Thanks for introducing me to it though!~

Can it be found at Barnes & Noble? I've not seen it.

Wood - I found mine at B&N yesterday. On the bottom shelf near where the writing magazines are... $6.95/issue.

This sounds very interesting, but I would like to know if it concentrates on American literature, or global.
