Gigantic local tomato

Thought all you tomato buffs would be interested in a local newspaper article where Sergi Andrijenko of Ringwood East grew a 572g tree tomato in a pot. The circumference of the tomato was about 40cm. He said "It's pretty big, a bit smaller than a cantaloupe and about as big as my hand". He also challenged anyone to find a vegetable as "big and ugly as mine". It apparently looked like no other fruit, with its crackly skin appearing like a map of Tasmania. He said he began growing the tree tomatoes in pots after reading a magazine review of them. He fed them seaweed extract and Charlie Carp. Mr Andrijenko boasted he might need a chainsaw to cut the bread roll! Sergi was photographed paying homage to his tomato with a big kiss. It would be interesting to hear if anyone has beaten Sergi's record.
