Aloha Blaze, Some of the flowers are significant for various reasons. The red Ohia Lehua is sacred to Pele, I believe. Each island also has it's own particular lei flower. My friend's mom really disliked plumeria leis since she always saw plumeria growing in grave yards and she didn't want to think where the flowers had possibly come from. So, there are a lot of different reasons to make leis from different flowers and leaves. Generally, if I'm making a lei, it has more to do with the flowers available than anything else. If I'm buying a lei, I usually like one of the tuberose ones just because of the scent. Puakinikini is another lovely scented lei. Yellow plumeria seems to smell better than white plumeria, too. Maile lei are usually a more "formal" lei used for really important occasions. There are probably as many different reasons to choose different flowers to make leis from as there are different leis! My hummer population varies from year to year but I maintain between 4 and 6 feeders all season long. I start by hanging one feeder out front usually towards then end of April and then add one out back a week or so afterwards. As I start seeing activity, I add more. I don't fill my feeders. I only use between 2 and 4 ounces of nectar in my feeders depending which ones I am using. My test tube feeders hold about 2 1/2 ounces so those are almost filled to the top and those get refilled daily later in the season. One year I had so many birds I had 6 feeders going and some were being emptied on a daily basis. Penny

Ceresone - I have some potted blueberries too. They're only in five gallon pots (maybe smaller) It's those foam ones that look like concrete. I've had a Sunshine Blue that way for a few years and just put it up against the south side of the house in the winter with no extra mulch or anything and it does fine. It's in the shade there from our balcony which might help it not to leaf out too early in the spring. That is my plan so far for my two new ones, Chandler and Ozark Blue. I think Ozark Blue may be the least hardy of those three so I should probably give it a little extra shelter. I have some bigger containers to move them into in the spring. I've been trying to decide what to do with some grape starts that are only in gallon pots. I've been debating whether to plant them or wait until spring. Same with my pawpaw seedlings that are in two liter bottles and some salvia guaranitica that I rooted. The Jupiter Grape that I planted this spring doesn't look very healthy to me. Hope it makes it through the winter. I picked hazelnuts and my second round of Sakata Sweet melons this week. Do you all think this cool weather and rain will give us some good fall colors this year? First I love 2 speed compressor systems. 2 speed systems reduce short staging. The system will actually run a bit longer than a single stage because they run about 80% in low speed. Have you got any estimates yet or are you now going to get estimates? Remember it's more about the contractor than the equipment, a dumpy contractor can give you nightmares on good equipment and a great contractor can make any equipment sparkle. Just a quick run down, AM-Heritage 15 = Trane XR-15 not XL15i Tranes XLi series is what separates Trane from AM XLi is communicating has the top, very nice but much more costly. Trane XR-15 and AM Heritage 15 I would compare to Bryant's 225B Trane's XL15i costs around the same as Bryant's 226A (2 speed) non communicating system. and then you would have the Bryant Evolution 286B way over in left field with their 2 speed data controlled system. So if your looking at AM Heritage 15 and Bryant Evolution you are talking way different pricing. You can't really compare the two.
