It is a carnosa and it will do just fine in that West window! The leaves will lighten, but more light does encourage blooming (however, carnosa is one of those that likes to take it's sweet time to bloom...it could take a couple of years).

Well whatever this other pink rose is that I have that was here when I bought the property doesn't Mildew at all. It may be Carnea, or some other type of multiflora hybrid. I have a old picture of it.It's once blooming pink and doesn't Mildew, if you like I can get more pictures of it later. Does Excelsa ever outgrow the Mildew, I have it in a pretty open area now, and was surprised it mildewed this spring, since it was in a open area and was more mature, if it doesn't outgrow it, I think I will put it somewhere else.
