Reflections From A Gardener

I am amazed how quick this gardening season is moving. Heck, I'm already

scheming about which roses to add next year(although the rose section of my garden is kinda full).

I'm so glad to see so many honey bee's around

my roses, after hearing about their numbers being down.

So good to see butterflies in the garden. They flutter around like they are dancing in the air.

I'm loving yellow and apricot roses, more and more.

They seem to add joy to the garden.

I'm thinking that I should add primarily floribunda's to

the rose garden. They seem to work best for me. They

have bloom power and are so easy-going.

There is something rather magical, about being in the

garden, under the moonlight. You half expect elves,

gnomes and fairies to come out from behind the flowers.

Honeysuckle sure makes the night air smell sweet. I

have one called "Pink Lemonade". I feel taken to

someplace exotic, like Morrocco, when the scent perfumes

the air.

I like hearing the birds in the garden. Other times,

I take some music with me, like my favorite classical composer,

Tchaikovsky, or one of my favorite bands,

like Maroon 5.

Those breezes in the garden, in the late afternoon,

on my face, is like being carressed by angels.

It can be very romantic sitting in the garden when the

sun is washing the sky in pink and gold. The other

evening, I was with someone, on a garden bench and

being surrounded by that twilight, I could swear she

was falling in love. Too soon to tell though.

I find women that love roses are the most elegant

of all!!!

I visited with my mom and dad last Sunday. I realize

my mom has taught me to appreciate what is beautiful

in life. I remember road trips, where she would all

of sudden say, "stop the car" to my dad. And he

would hesitantly pull over to a field of wild flowers.

My mom would get off the car, look at all the flowers

and say "look what God made". My dad was cool with

it, 'cause he's a nature lover too. When I have kid's, I'm

going to teach them to find the beauty in life too.

Gosh, I feel so lucky to be a gardener and love

nature. Some of my friend's don't understand why

I love gardening so much. They'll invite me out,

and I'll tell them, "dude, I have to work in the

garden". I'm a happy guy because of my garden,

what can I say?
