It has been a long time since I planted Golden Bantam or Golden Bantam Improved. It has very small stalks and small ears and is a midseason corn. It is open pollinated and does not have hybrid vigor so I suspect you are doing all right.

I have it. Only for 2 seasons now so it is only a foot and a half tall here. Own root from chamblees I think. Very nice, semi double, not much scent if I recall. It is a solid light orange not bi colored. Blooms seem to last a while for a semi-double. A very nice charming "old style" flower rose. Not real high centered, opens pretty nicely. Not the most prolific but trouble free here. Pretty healthy here, although we don't have much of a blackspot problem. Made it through a zone 5, IL winter with mulch. I like it, it's a keeper for me.

Mulchmama, I'm pretty much on the border of NY and PA; Western, NY. Well, we forgot to protect our little tree. We were too busy putting up drywall tonight, and completely forgot about it, til I remembered it just now. I'm almost tempted to wake up dh. lol But I won't, and I'm not going out there in the dark, there's too many bats, and if a vole ran under my foot while I was out there in the dark my scream would effortlessly wake the neighbor's, so what's done is done.

Linnea, that white is horrible in your very rich and wonderful kitchen. Honey...once you go to the dark side, you'll never return my young Jedi friend...oh wait that was another life. Umm where was I? Dark trim. This is a mix of half black and half dark chocolate brown...we have it EVERYWHERE in our home...it's fabulous with rich copper reds, burgundy's, greens, yellow, pumpkin...any rich earth color rocks with this trim color. I will never (ok maybe not never, but not soon) do light trim again :) Don't focus on what's in this room, just focus on the fact that it's mostly a green base color with accents of green: Window trim and paneled wall are both dark with amber gold walls Bad pic, but copper colored walls, leaning towards that red tone in your counters, with the same trim color: Hopefully it will help you think about shifting to the dark side...believe me...we have better parties at Darth's house than we ever did with that boring old Luke :oP
