The gardens are fully handicap accessible, so if your hubby is not able to walk he can still enjoy the sights. June in the PNW is a very unstable month.......sometimes we can have wonderful weather characteristic of early summer but more often, June is just an extension of a seemingly endless cold and wet spring. Provided the weather cooperates at least marginally, you will see a great late spring show in June - rhodies and azaleas, early perennials like iris and peonies and Butchart's always wonderful display of bedded out annuals. One can usually plan on great weather in September......that month is often the best weather of the entire year around here and the gardens look stunning then too. If you visit the garden's website, you can investigate what the garden offers in all 5 seasons (Christmas is considered a season all on its own!). Thanks for sharing. I moved about a year ago and I have it on my list to plant more bulbs this fall. I sure miss my daffodils and alliums. That columbine is very pretty. I visited Butchart Gardens several years ago. It sure looks magical in the spring. BTW, do you know what your plant labeled "Pretty (Got at Swap, don't know what it is, poppy?)" really is? Sure looks to be Pink Evening Primrose (Oenothera speciosa). A pretty plant but it sure spreads fast! - Brent

Thank you for the compliments. I deleted photos with too many people in them. There were quite a few there. About a dozen tour buses too. They have umbrellas available in several locations, there was a boy with a wheelbarrow of them right in the parking lot. We didn't need them though, it only dripped under the trees while we were there. Since I sell gifts wholesale for a living, I like their gift shop :) I just wish I could have bought at Thomas Hobb's nursery and brought plants home.
