To Prune or Not to Prune

Hi Everyone,

I am new to looking after roses. We moved to beautiful house with lots of rose bushes about 8months ago. I am absolutely lovely having roses. Gardening is so relaxing and the roses are gorgeous.

I have been very diligent with my roses so I have dead-headed the roses and about 4 mths ago I actually pruned back my bushes because they looked very wild and straggly so now they are flowering beautifully and look very health. Do I need to cut all my roses off and still prune back? I live in Kellyville so we get some frost on the ground in the morning. Does frost ruin rose buds? Do roses need to be pruned because of the effects of cold winter or do you prune just to tidy up the bush?

Thanks for you advice in advance,

FKMH.
