I get a few amaryllis each fall for winter blooms. The landscape ones won't bloom until next spring. I moved a few this fall to see how they do in a different location. They were all due for some "lifting" anyway. I do enjoy them since I can't have daffodils here - it's a fair trade other than I miss the daffodil scent. Hector announces his presence at daylight each morning. A couple of days ago, he swooped the feeder outside the office window and sat on the fence ever so proud of himself. I'm thinking that this is the same Cooper's we saw last year as a juvenile and this year he has his adult plumage. I did find a pile of dove feathers so he (though I think it's a "she" due to the size) has been a bit successful in his hunting. There is enough cover here that the cardinals, titmice and jays are still coming in throughout the day. Hector sure has figured out the schedule though - he shows up in the late afternoon about the same time as the little guys do.

I thought there was a slight (very slight) difference in color on these, but maybe I'm wrong and I received two Pinknesses in error. I think they are definitely 2 different cultivars. The second one, to me seems a lot more ruffled than the first one. Here is a link that might be useful: Pinkness

Love those good surprises....sounds sooooooo yummy also!!! Our 'almost FIL'...well Kalie's, will be with us for Easter! Thankful for that!
