IÂve just finished to read The prince of Tides, which I read more or less twenty years ago for the first time. Of course I remebred very well what the book was about, but rerading it I was able to get back a lot of details that I had lost. In particular I remebered the strongest passages of WingoÂs family, and I had lost the "poetic" pages. An other thing, IÂm now able to compared the book and the film, because I saw it many times lately, in order to improve my listening-skills. In my opinion the book and the film are complementary to each other , the book tells Tom Wingo memories for 80% of the story and 20% is about Tom in New York, the movie is just the other way around. I think Barbra Streisand did a great job, and always in my humble opinion, she has improved a few naiveties of the author of the book, Pat Conroy. For instance doctor Lowenstein is far much believeble as psychiatrist, in the film than in the book. now I cut and past a little of the plot , for whom havenÂt read the book nor seen the film Things come to a head when Tom learns that his beautiful and talented twin, Savannah, has tried to commit suicide again. As she lays comatose in a New York City mental hospital, Savannah's psychiatrist, Susan Lowenstein, urges Tom to travel to New York. Doctor Lowenstein realizes that the only thing that can help save Savannah is to unlock the secrets of her terrible childhood (something that all the Wingo children have long suppressed and refuse to talk about). Tom flies to New York reluctantly, and at first, presents Dr. Lowenstein with a façade made up of humor, sarcasm and even rudeness. But Dr. Lowenstein eventually is able to break down Tom's protective shell to discover the horrors that took place during the Wingo's childhood. She also realizes that in trying to save Savannah, that this might also be Tom's last chance to save himself. But it turns out that Lowenstein has erected her own protective mask to hide her own unhappiness. With a remote husband and a spoiled son, Tom is able to turn the tables and help the good doctor in promoting a little self-healing as well. Now IÂm nearly through with "The Confessions of Max Tivoli" and IÂve got conflicting feelings about it. I hope , with the beginning of the discussion I will be able to clear up my mind grelobe

i like disturbed's cover-- it's more the way i always thought the song should be sung. i also really like the percussion!! i appreciate S&G's amazing harmony and sweet, melodic voices much more now than i did when i was younger... never heard of that history of the word 'cover' when referring to bands/songs... my kids loved music and collected it and played it constantly on their ipods- it always amazed me how much music they knew and how many lyrics they knew, including so much classic rock. one day one of them was singing 'big yellow taxi' and i was shocked that he even knew joni mitchell until he told me it was counting crows' cover- lol

Let's just stop trying to flex here. It is a bit ridiculous. I have asthma and when we decided to build a shop connected to the house, dust control was our most important concern. I have a 5 HP dust collection system, with an air cleaner, both with 2 micron filters. No matter what you do, you are not going to eliminate all dust in a shop using power tools. You are going to be very lucky to get 95%-98%, and two weekends ago, I generated two 55 gallon drums of sawdust ( I had a lot of boards to plane). Even with crazy dust collection, there is at least a couple of gallons of dust floating around my shop, and that is in one weekend, and honestly even with one of the cleanest shops I have ever been in, there was more than that. Sound attenuation curtains are going to collect dust, and they are going to prevent it collecting on the floor. When you hit those curtains, which you will as you move boards around, that dust is going to get back into the air. It it is a good general suggestion, but not one that is good for the specific situation. This is the problem of providing general advice to specific questions. I have a home theater, and the work I did to build it was much different than my shop. It was much more expensive and required a lot of decoupling, mass, and absorption, as I am running four large SVS subs in there. However, my shop is just as quiet without most of that expense, and I am not alone in that result. I recommended sources with detailed information and real results addressing wood shops specifically. I apologize that the tone of my response was rude, I admit that you were the disproportionate recipient of my frustration. That frustration can largely be attributed to the above phenomenon of discounting specific expertise and results, while endorsing general knowledge. I didn't want to advocate for spray insulation as I don't like spray insulation, however, if you were to peruse the information available on shop sound control, you would find scientific studies indicating that open cell foam insulation is actually the most effective option for quieting universal and induction motors, with results that significantly exceed Roxul. However, they must be used in a specific manner, which is detailed in those sources.
