I am new to aus and don't really know much about local gardening...don't know a lot about gardening in general to be honest.

I had an 8 by 0.5 metre naked garden bed running along a tall fence that gets not a beam of sunshine all day, a friend of my mother-in-law showed up at her house on the weekend with a dozen little 'hedge plants' that would supposedly do great in the area. They are pittosporum 'silver sheen' and the little dears are now residing in that bed.

Here's the thing...I was wandering through a garden centre yesterday and saw the same plant but the information said it was a 'full sun' to 'semi shade'.

Are all these little plants going to move on to the great garden bed in the sky??

Thank you
