Because only c. 1/3rd of the identification of a rose is done by looking at the flower, I would say your rose is a Hybrid Tea, because of the Hybrid Tea foliage your rose exhibits. Also, 'Treasure Trove' was bred from 'Kiftsgate' and both roses blooms in clusters. Your rose has: H.T. foliage, which is plain, smooth, thicker in substance than Tea class foliage and usually has 5 leaflets per leaf, though 7 is not uncommon. To date a Hybrid Tea, color and size of bloom are useful traits to examine. Flame hues were not introduced into modern roses until 1900, and a predominantly peach colored H.T. would have not appeared before then. Other traits exhibited include: Size of H.T. blooms, as a class, increased after the 1950's and even more after 1970. Post 1900 H.T.s can be as wide as 5" or even c. 6" wide. Summary H.T. foliage, bloom is predomintantly peach, and appears to be very large. I'd date it as a post 1970 Hybrid Tea, and suggest you post on the modern rose page, with the diameter of the bloom in millimeters, because someone who grows H.T.s will probably know what cultivar it is. I often wonder if the warmer zones have more problems with virus. I can't remember seeing any data on this. B & D Lilies also told me that "Golden Stargazer" is prone to virus as well. It has grown in my gardens for quite a few years now (knock on wood ;) ) without any problems. I have both "Sea Treasure" and "Tiger Woods", but I will note that I also started using Messenger with my lilies last year, for some potential organic protection against potential viruses. I also note that The Lily Garden sells "Sea Treasure" .

Thanks for the validation, Andrew. My family just rolls their eyes when I get going on this subject. I'm at the point where I'm thinking I might start selling the worms and/or compost, but want to check the forums and such to see if there are any laws or regs I need to be aware of. There are a lot of farmer's markets, nurseries, and eco-aware organizations around my area, so I thought I'd start looking around. I get all googly eyed at the idea of vermicomposting all the scraps from all of the cafes and restaurants along my walk (there are at least 15, at last count). In my area, the city will take your kitchen scraps from private homes, but not from apartment buildings or businesses. And thanks for the heads up on the bins - I was at the hardware store today looking at the different ones, but couldn't decide. However, I did get two ten-gallon buckets to transport the scraps from the cafe.

I think many people were confused about your original question and when you didn't explain why you wanted to abandon the furniture, they lost interest in the post.
