Great score! I love love love the coat (?). Very ‘Twiggy’ like. The design is just like a dress I wore to death in high school about 1969. It had wide bell chiffon sleeves and I wore orange tights with it. Good memories!

I love how fresh mulch can transform an area into looking polished and fresh. I have a yard project that is taking quite some time, but just putting down mulch transformed it from a barren dirt area to a nice little garden oasis (with trees, flowers, water feature, etc). I only wish I had your beautiful forest walkway. So lovely!

There are a lot of horrible people in the world and many of them have children they have mistreated. I don't think we owe dishonorable people the honor of a respectful obituary. If she had earned respect, that's likely the kind of obituary she would have had written about her. I went to a memorial service once for a friend's father - who was a narcissist who lived his life in a way that negatively affected his children in major ways. One of the kids stood up and gave a speech about his father and what a miserable man he was and how his children had suffered from it. Everyone knew it was true, but the discomfort in the room was palpable. We just aren't used to people speaking the truth about the dead, but I don't see any reason not to. I know it was very healing for the man who spoke his truth at his father's service, instead of listening to the things others said about him while tiptoeing around the awful truth.

Cute little guy! I had a brief visit from 8 or 10 deer this morning as they roamed through my property. At least 3 of them were antlered bucks and they seemed to think the rut was still on because they were harassing the does a bit. Now I can see about a dozen turkey scratching around in the snow covered corn field behind my house. The turkey population seems to have decreased substantially since last year when I would often see 3-4 dozen at a time in the winter months. That trend seems to be nearly nationwide and the wildlife biologists are placing much of the blame on predators like raccoons, possums, and coyotes which have had population explosions since trapping is no longer profitable. Nature is both beautiful and ruthless.
