Song Sparrow was fine, 3-7 eyes each, certainly not as large as Fina was. Song Sparrow just seems to carry a lot of the cactus dahlia style blooms that no one else carries, most were initially produced by Klehm. Their roots always arrive fresh and unbroken with no issues.

I think the problem might be that song sparrows (at least on my property) seem to like the same type of shrub that house sparrows like. In my experience, the song sparrows like trees and deciduous shrubs as opposed to evergreens. They definitely like less tidy spaces.......but then so do house sparrows! Wish I could help you more. Good luck. P.S. Do you feed the birds? I've learned to never have millet in any birdseed I put out, since they like it so much. Actually, I quit feeding the birds because of a coon problem, and I have lots less house sparrows around.....so you might consider stopping birdfeeding for awhile.

I see White-throats every winter here in SE Ma, although they usually stay near brush. Luckily I have lots of brush in my yard and I put feeders near by. The nyjer spillover is a draw for lots of sparrows, including white-throats. I've been fussing the last few days over these two birds which I think are probably juvenile White-throated Sparrows, but I'm not quite sure about the second one. The first one has the beginnings of the yellow dot behind the eye. Neither of these has the strong white stripe on the head, but maybe they're too young, or are of the tan-striped persuasion. He has worked with several breeders to introduce some of the best shade trees, Crabapples, Magnolias and Lilacs in the industry. As of spring 2019, Song Sparrow is now under new ownership. A neighboring farmer has purchased Song Sparrow and is fully committed to the 2019 shipping season. We will continue to work hard to get as many plants as possible into the hands of our garden fanatic customers this year. We have the same awesome staff and quality plants, as always. In addition to our 60 greenhouses of perennials, trees and shrubs, acres of peonies and daylilies, we have also been propagating and growing many liners for our sister company, Beaver Creek, which is now going thru its own change in ownership.
