Wow, yes, that looks exactly like my rose's structure and everything. But mine is definitely pinky/purpley, not straight up red. Actually, it's last year's blooms didn't get as much sun as this year's, and since I've been shaping it to open it up and make it wider, this year it's gotten more overall sun and it's even more purpley/pink. It reminds me of a lot of Eva, and I saw a gallica in a book I just bought about roses that really resembles it as well, Belle Sultane, but that one is quite more purple than mine, plus mine blooms way more. Is there any sort of service that can be found that can test for whatever lineages?

In case this thread is still helpful to folks, we used Maipei's newer item: ULTRACOLOR PLUS MAX in Pure White. It comes in two colors (pure white and black). Advertised as brightest white on the market and it is indeed very white! We did a new shower with white subway (daltile artic white) and it looks great with this grout. We used maipei frost color on the marble floor (which looks way lighter than the maipei pamphlet shows) and the two colors and materials look nice together. Good luck grouting everyone!

I think it's smart you realized that the trees outside will be casting a color into your room, and altering the way you see the white. good job. I have no suggestions how to counteract that effect though. I thought (during my cream quest) that I did read some way to do what you are talking about. Was it to pick a white with a pink undertone? I can't remember, it was probably on Maria Killam's blog. You can shoot her an email, she said that answering "white" questions is easy and she doesn't mind. I am having the same thing going on in my kitchen. I have a beige wall color and my cabinets were a soft white. Cabinets were installed and they match the walls and I didn't even try to do that. Probably couldn't have if I tried. It wasn't my intention of course. So, floors going in and granite Tuesday and then like you I will make the paint decision. I have a hard time too deciphering what colors would do what. But even after a few days I like the cabs so much better than when they first went in. I'm going to wait til granite in because that color will change what I see now. The granite is creamy like cabs. I can definitely relate to your frustration with the color situation. Please post your outcome because it does help to read others situation when they find solution.
