Honestly, for this, I would order pizzas. Kids love pizza, and they can eat it standing up without utensils. Something like pasta that you need a knife and fork for would require seating for all these people and someone to clear away used plates so that the spaces can be used again. For the same reason, instead of salad, I would put out cut vegetables. Add some chips, grapes cut into small bunches, and something like cookies or brownies for dessert. Buy some big bottles of soda. Put out stacks of disposable plates (which they won't use anyway), cups, and napkins, and that's all you need. I like to cook, and big crowds don't faze me. But teens on homecoming night aren't going to appreciate any culinary efforts anyway. (Same principle as buying a supermarket cake for a small child's birthday party -- they don't eat it anyway, much less appreciate the difference -- and saving the homemade masterpiece for the family celebration.) If it were 8 or 10 kids wanting a special dinner in their fancy clothes, that would be different. But this is a big crowd, and they won't be expecting a fancy meal. My kids are grown now, but we poured more pizza, grapes, and soda down teenage throats than I care to remember, and it was always a success. Mayonaise, 1 tbs. Tomato Sauce, 1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce, 3 drops of Tabasco, Salt & Pepper; to taste Directions: Mix together all ingredients except apples and shrimp. When a smooth consistency is formed add apples and shrimp. Set to chill for at least an hour. Serve in glass cups for each person. Main Course: Beverage: Glass of Merlot ( Or wine of choice) Main Dish: Filet Mignon Ingredients: 2 tablespoons butter, 2 8-ounce tenderloin steaks, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, pepper, 1/4 cup brandy, 1/2 cup whipping cream Directions: Melt butter in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steaks and cook to desired degree of doneness, about four minutes per side for rare. Add mustard and Worcestershire to skillet. Season with pepper. Remove pan from heat. Add brandy and ignite. When flames subside, return skillet to heat. Transfer steaks to plates. Add cream to skillet and boil until reduced to sauce consistency. Pour over steaks and serve. Side Dish: Portabello Mushrooms Provencal Ingredients: 4 Large Portabello Mushrooms, 1 tbs. Italian leaf parsley, 1 clove garlic; finely minced, 1 1/2 tbs. butter, Juice of a lemon wedge, Salt & Pepper to taste Directions: Wash mushrooms well to remove any dirt and pat dry. Slice mushrooms into 1/2 inch strips. In a frying pan, melt 1 tbs. butter over a medium medium flame. Add mushrooms and spread them evenly around the pan. Leave mushrooms as is for 3 minutes. Gently with a spoon or spatula, turn or toss mushrooms around in order to brown the other sides. Cook for another 3 minutes. Add garlic, lemon juice, and remaing butter. Continue to cook for about a minute or so to reduce the strong flavor of the garlic. Just before removing from pan, add parsley and toss with mushrooms briefly. Serve immediately. Last Course: Beverage: Glass of Port Dessert: Chocolate Mousse Ingredients: 4 squares (1 ounce each) semisweet chocolate, cut into pieces, 3 eggs, separated, 1 tsp. vanilla, 3/4 tsp cream of tartar, 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup chilled whipping cream Directions: Heat chocolate in heavy 2-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted; remove from heat. Beat egg yolks slightly; stir yolks and vanilla into chocolate. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in 2 1/2 quart bowl until foamy. Tina, my father is Sardinian/Sicilian where leg of lamb is popular. I grew up eating it every year for Easter. As I’ve gotten older I don’t much care for it but I do love lamb chops! When my husband and I were discussing the menu, he suggested leg of lamb, but I told him I’d much prefer lamb chops. Fortunately he loves them so he was willing to indulge me 😬. I’m also not a fan of carrot cake but my husband and two of my kids love it. My daughter has been wanting to make it herself. I’ve given up sugar/sweets so figure I won’t be as tempted to eat dessert if she makes carrot cake! when I was growing up, ham was super popular for Easter meals among my friends. For some reason, we never had it (just the lamb!) and I have never served it either. My husband will eat it but it’s not something either of us have a huge desire to eat so we’ve never made it. I don’t hate it and would definitely eat it if someone served it to me, I just don’t think to make it.

Apparently Julia Child developed something like this but I imagine the current iteration is something she would not recognize.
