Thanks Ron - keep them coming. It seems as though many of you feel about winter as I do about our hot summers. More than a week of over 37degrees Celsius and I am so over summer. I guess if I lived in a snowy place I would feel like you do but before I kick the bucket I want to experience going to bed and waking up to a white blanketed world. My photos are of the view from my deck on a frosty morning a few weeks ago and some parrots waiting for their breakfast in a mist. Beth

So, where do you live, Jahalaro? I grew up in Galveston and had the same desire, to see what it's like to live in the snow and look what happened! I married Ronf in New Mexico and he brought me back to his birthplace in Minnesota! Brrrr!! Actually, right now it's lovely. Here's a pic from yesterday in our yard.

Bigbaby, I live in Western Australia so we are heading into summer soon. My Dad was Scottish and I think I must be more suited to the climate he left behind. At least in the country town I now live in, we see more of the seasonal changes and I have loved the two winters I have had here but the summers are hotter than where I lived on the coast before. No sea breezes here. Autumn is my favourite season and I love the leaves. Beth

I love all the Fall colors pictures. It seems that here where I live all the trees are green and then almost over-night the are bare of leaves.

Jodi, in the pictures that you've shown from Japan the ground is usually wet. Was it raining most of the time during your visit?

Mary Ann, I went to three cities in Japan; Kobe, Tokyo and Hakodate. The weather in Kobe and Tokyo was perfect but Hakodate is quite a bit north and on a different island altogether so the weather was a bit colder and wet.

Spring was pretty much over in Kobe and Tokyo as evidenced by the fact that all of the cherry blossoms had fallen off from recent rains. Hakodate on the other hand was in the last phase of spring being so far north. The rain was just doing its job when we got there. I do have some lovely photos of cherry blossoms still on the trees there though.

Grammahony...in defense of the lovely Goldenrod in gmom74's post...I have to tell you and others that it is not what makes us miserable with the sneezes and watery/itchy eyes. It is in fact Ragweed that is to blame. Many people including me until a few years ago blamed the wrong plant. Goldenrod and Ragweed grow in much the same places and conditions and bloom about the same time. Goldenrod is much showier and tends to overshadow the ragweed growing beside it, so poor pretty Goldenrod often gets the blame for making so many people miserable in late summer and fall.

Thanks for the info gazania. I sure didn't know that. And it's our state 'flower'.
