All about me quilt block November Block # 3

Okay I am posting Block #3 for November due at the end of november size is 21" long by 11" inches tall...

This block will be about when you as a "child" you may do it how ever you like.... example your favorite toys as a child, your best friends as a child.....something you would like to share about your childhood....

This is such a great idea. I'm not able to participate in this right now, but I would love to make this quilt in the future. Are you working with a pattern?

I am not working from a pattern per-say It was idea some other quilter had that the idea never took off so I sked her if I could use her blocks sizes and she yes, so I changed the block ideas to the quilt about me.....

I have mine done and will try and get a picture of it taken and then figure out how to get it posted. I have the instructions but even my DD had some trouble with it last time. This will be fun to see the next block assignment. Deanna

IDEAS: You could piece it (easy or hard, depending on how long your name it!); you could show off your best applique skills; you could do machine or by-hand embroidery; you could cut out letters and fuse them on; you could do a big initial; you could use a fabric pen and write in your formal name, your nickname(s), and any other pet names that family members have for you; you could write your name in a sandy beach, take a picture of it and print that onto fabric; you could write your name with ribbon stitched onto the block.

The mail just came, bringing squares from Robbi and Petalpatsy. So, we're now complete, a day early! Quite a feat with so much going on this time of year. I'll be having cataract surgery tomorrow and making the almost 3 hour trek back to Baltimore on Wednesday for my post-op check. (And going through this again next week for other eye). Anyway, with all the blocks here and accounted for, I'd like to do the drawing this evening. I plan to be online around 7, and since I'd like to be a possible winner, I'll need some assistance with the drawing. I'll check when I get online to see who's available to draw a name. You really did something special!! I am very impressed on how well everything ties togeather. I see you used my applique mistakes. They worked for you, I am glad. I love the fabrics your used. I am not always impressed with Christmas quilts but yours is outstanding. Woodenzoo's block is interesting, I see a Christmas tree hiding in there!

Thank you for this great idea. I am just a lurker here and have been doing the "all about me" blocks each month. I look forward to the first of the month to see what the new block will be.

This sounds like so much fun, but so many things have been happening to both of us, health-wise, that I'm going to have to drop out. I'll still enjoy seeing what the rest of you make, though.

Oh, that sounds like a fun one. I hope I can find some fabric that would resemble my girl scout years, outdoor fun, etc.

Red, since you know what all the other blocks are about would you say this one is more about our younger years (under age 12) or just any part of our youth? Deanna

yikes! i still need to get block 2 done! ill be bustin butt this week :) it will give me time to think of a childhood block.lol
