Alisande. I believe that your butterfly is an American Painted Lady bf, not a regal frit. I think that there should be a law passed requiring butterflies to carry ID. Sure would free up a lot of my time trying to ID them for other things.

Thanks, Gazania! The underside certainly looks the same. I didn't know the name of the butterfly until a friend ID'd it for me on Facebook this morning. I guess I'll ask her to take another look in her book.

Gazania, the friend who ID'd the butterfly as a Regal Fritillary was using a 1934 book. My much more up-to-date (?) 1977 edition clearly identifies it as a Painted Lady. But we'd never have known this without you!

I was gifted 3 skillets and 2 rimless cookie sheets from Freecycle. The non-stick is a Lagostina, and the 2 stainless ones are real heavy. No wonder! Check out the brand of them. Some scrubbing with Barkeepers Friend, and they'll be as good as new!

and.....here are the after shots.
I had no idea the Kirkland pan (the small one) had copper in it. It was blackened on the outside.

Hubby asked if she said why she was getting rid of them, and she didn't. Maybe she just didn't want to bother cleaning them, or had no idea of the quality of the pans she had.

Ain't Freecycle grand? Last Friday I answered an FC add for rectangular tableclothes. They are all perfect. Perfect shape, perfect color, clean and pressed. All seven of them!
