Just down the street from the blue heron rookery was a pair of nesting bald eagles....this is the male. The female kept squaking for him to come take over, but he was ignoring her....:0)

Oh, what a fine picture, Nicole! I would so love to see an eagle and a great horned owl in the wild.

Gazania, head to Alaska, Bald Eagles are everywhere! I once had a newspaper clipping that showed a harbor, in Sitka, AK I think, where literally every boat mast had a Bald Eagle sitting on top of it. Of course it was some kind of annual fish run that attracted them, but still ... it's hard not to see an eagle in AK.
