Your shot of HotStuff reminds me of my Cockatiel, "Sunnybird"

Sunnybird was a white Cockatiel with a yellow head and bright orange spots on her cheeks. In the evening I used to let her out of her cage to fly around and get some exercise. One evening around Easter time I was laying on the couch watching TV and I had some easter candy scattered on the coffee table that I was munching on.

Sunnybird flew down and walked around the coffee table a bit, then she picked out a light blue hardshell candy easter egg, rolled it around a bit, then she puffed herself up real big and sat down on it as if to incubate it.

Af first I thought that was funny so when I finally put her in the cage for the night, I put her easter egg in there with her, and as you said, any effort to touch that egg would result in a serious injury to your finger....LOL

Within a couple days the coloring on that candy egg started making a big blue stain on her breast, but that did not disuade her, she sat on that egg for nearly two months until finally, with all the color gone from the egg I finally took it out.

About three months later a friend of mine was moving and she had to give up her male gray cockatiel so she gave him to me. I was afraid to put them together at first, but whenever I let Sunny out to fly she would go straight to the males cage and hang on the side. Finally I decided to put them together and within about 6 weeks I had three baby birds but I still wonder how long Sunny would have sat on that easter egg before giving up?

That's a cute story, Richard! We rescued the lovebirds (Sunshine and Hot Stuff) so are not sure of their age, but they lived with us a few years before Hot Stuff laid eggs. She sits on them for about 4 weeks or so then she pushes them out of the box and I throw them away. We always thought they were two males but evidently they are two females. The eggs are not fertile so we have no babies.
